Show off your Rock Band creations!

I might as well take the new forum for a test drive. Is anybody else having as much with with the custom character creator in Rock Band as I am? I find that I can spend a couple of hours at a time tinkering with it.

I've done Pacman and creepy skull guitars. I've also done Powerpuff Girls and Strongbad t-shirts.

For characters, I've created Judy Nails and my wife created Izzy Sparks from the Guitar Hero series. We had to try Peter Criss also. Just last night, I came with with a passable Cheetara .

I'm anxious to see what everyone else has come up with.

If you can tell me how to pull my character creations from the game, I'd be happy to post mine. I have an account on Rock Band's site, but I don't know how to get to that.

I've been using a digital camera with the flash turned off for mine.

Now that you mention it though, I seem to remember hearing something about pictures and the Rock Band site. I'll check it out and see if I can figure it out.

Nice work, Pithy.

My drummer, Tobias Funke. Second look at Tobias.

Stormtrooper T shirt.

I enjoy tinkering with this part of the game a lot. I hope they include some clothing / tattoo downloads in the future.

More fruits of me avoiding homework:

Ghostbusters T shirt 1

"how to" #1

"How to" #2

I'm posting my work in this Rock Band forums thread under "Roach F-15E".

Pithy , I need to give your Powerpuff Girls design a go. The facepaint of the guy wearing it is really creepy too, very nice work.

I started on a Wal Mart t-shirt after reading a thread in the pit, but it morphed into something else. I don't want to offend anyone who works at wal-mart, so I might not post it (SFW).

Kudos on the Ghostbuster logo and especially on the how to. I should really look into doing a how to for the PPG shirt.

Thanks! I made that character after seeing one too many gothed up rockers in online play. Here is that same character's guitar. I often hear giggles online when the other person has a headset on.

A couple of others:
The Rose Bass Guitar

Tiger face paint - I fixed the purple center stripe since but this character became Cheetara.

Judy Nails' 'Snakes' outfit

Judy Nails' GH3 outfit

Advice for others posting "how-to"s in the future: I saved my finished work, then went back into edit mode and changed the colors for the how-to. I then backed out and hit "discard changes" thinking that would leave me with my original work. Not so. Apparently "discard changes" wipes the entire piece from memory, not just the changes you input from last save. So if you change colors for a tutorial, change the colors back to what you want them to be in the final piece and hit "Save changes". The good news is now I know how to build this, it should only take 30 minutes or so to do it again.

Thanks, Strormravynn, I mean Pithy. I really like your skull bass. That spider tat comes in handy.

My shoulder's better now, but tonight I spent more time doing electronic arts and crafts than playing RB. It's a good break from drumming, which is how I injured myself a few days ago (how lame is that?).

I never play online, but I'd love it if I logged in one day and someone was wearing my Smurf T shirt.

I just posted a surf sweatshirt in the character pics thread over at RB. I hate the fact that we can't import art across characters. I made the hoodie on the drums and it was nowhere as easy as for a singer with the hand controller. I wonder if a patch to share art among all one's characters is coming.

The Che shirt taught me the value of the "splatter" set of tats for irregular shapes . The "tooth" tattoo in the first tattoo set was especially useful. You can shrink it down to only a few pixels and it has a pointy end and a rounded end that can do a lot for you if you flip and or rotate it. For example, the right side of his moustache is two "tooth" tattoos and there's a third one in his left eye as the little green speck. Che's hair is made from one of the fire tats under a specific artist, not the generic fire shape I started with. I think he came out looking a little like Casey Affleck, so I might go back and widen the chin and lower the beret.

I'm going to make a Punisher Skull shirt next, or a Radiohead design. It's nice to have a niche on RB, since I'll never be known for my gaming skill. Still a fun game, though.

I bet a Jonny Greenwood guitarist would look cool.

Nice tips and you read my mind. The Punisher is going to be my next attempt I think.

By the way, my Xbox 360 gamertag is Storm Ravynn, feel free to add me to your friends list. That goes for any other Dopers as well.
