My band is Men without Captains.
The random bandname generator in Rock Band is almost as much fun as the entire rest of the game.
I haven’t come up with names for the other members of The Aspersions yet.
My wife and I have two bands. Our main band is Apocalyptic Cheese (I drum, she sings, our buddy plays guitar when he comes over). Our other band is Loaded Duck (she drums, I play guitar).
My drummer is named Strafe (I’m not sure why – I wanted something like Strife but more badass, and that’s what I landed on). My guitarist’s name is C-Dawg (he’s got a pig tattoo on his face because that’s how he rolls).
I briefly played as “The Trashcan Assclowns”. Also as “Mourning Wood”. My personal work is “The Danse Leviathan”.
I don’t know about character names, but my band name is Grumpy Kitty.
My girlfriend said something strange one night while we were preparing to start a 3 person band, so we wound up as I Got Amazed
My family’s band is “Giant Rats”. My guitar player is Roland, and my drummer is Stumpy Pete.
Our band name on Guitar Hero was “The O Face”.
In Dave Barry Goes to Japan, he writes about how the Japanese love to put English words on their shirts, even if they make no sense. He was watching a Japanese band and IIRC the lead singer wore a shirt that said “King Fucker Chicken.”

I figured if you didn’t understand it then you didn’t have a band/character and the thread would be pointless anyway, so I didn’t figure I needed to. But anyway, we’re talking about the video game Rock Band.
I still haven’t gotten Rock Band yet (still slogging through Guitar Hero 1&2 thanks to Asimovian) but I’ve already decided my band name is Buttsecks!1! the band feat. Goatse. (My GH band is already Buttsecks!1!, but it’s just featuring Pandora.)

Here is a video showing people playing. It’s a hell of a lot of fun as a party game. My favorite is the drums. (the stuff on the screen is telling them what notes/buttons to play on their “instruments.” The lyrics are scrolling across the top for the singer, and it measures how close they are to the correct pitch.
I’ve got tears in my eyes over the beauty of that.
