Free Web Storage

Has anyone here used any of the free web storage sites you can find online? Sometimes it would be handy to have a place to temporarily make a very large file downloadable for my mates, and unfortunately my own webhost is stuck in 1999 and not offering much.

I'm looking for multi-Gig space (1 or 2 only), that will only be up temporarily. And preferably free, because it won't be a frequent thing I do, so even a nominal monthly fee is excessive.

Does anyone have any recommendations, or anti-recommendations?

I've had good luck with steekr .

Most of the other file hosting services have odious restrictions on their free services, such as deleting files after a certain time period, limiting files to inconvenient sizes, limiting the number of downloads, etc. Steekr has none of these limitations.

I don't know. Maybe nothing, I've never used a Yahoo email account so didn't know it could be used as temporary file storage like that.

Thanks! That's the kind of feedback I was after. I'll check them out.
