Letter to Santa Leads to Man's Molestation Arrest

Isn't this just the most screwed up story that will warm the cockles of your heart this Christmas?

Quote:
A Texas man has been arrested after a 9-year-old girl wrote to Santa Claus asking that a relative stop touching her and her sister.

The Monitor of McAllen reports that a man from the town of Pharr was arrested Friday and is in the Hidalgo County jail.
This just seems so...wrong. I mean, the molestation, but just the whole context of it. I had to share it.

The perpetrator has now also been charged with molesting the 9-year-old's sister.

Well, at least Santa came through for the little girl.

I am kinda going for the Funny here, but seriously - she wrote her wish to Santa - so she could share what must have been a terrible secret - and thank Og someone read it and did something about it. She might not have felt comfortable talking about it with anyone else...

Whatever gets it to stop.

Back to the Funny:

Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus - who will beat down anyone who doesn't treat you right. Go Santa!

I can just hear Cypress Hill rapping about it.

I'm headin' in the air with a sleigh and no reindeer
And I'm handin' out beatdowns!

Isn't it a crime to deliver mail deliberately to the wrong person? Shouldn't somebody in the post office be busted too?

Yeah, okay, I'll go away...

In Canada, where we have a program to receive mail for Santa Claus and have it answered (by postal retirees, volunteers, etc.), I think there have been a few cases like this.

It's horribly sad but such a good thing she was able to get help like this.

I have the honor of dwelling in the the same city. What a creep! But you gotta remember--this is also the place where the 1000 lb. woman killed her nephew with a swipe of her monstrous appendage. And where a woman was caught smuggling chorizo (sausage) in her kid's diaper. Nothing surprises anymore.

The letter was turned into School.
She wrote a letter to Santa, and turned it in to her teacher (dunno if it was for a project)- that information came from the Pit thread on this same topic.

There's another thread here about why we should teach kids about Santa. This would be a good reason. Give kids someone safe to write their secrets to.

"Smuggling"? What, is chorizo contraband there?

Anyway, what if the kid, er, contributed to the chorizo in the diaper?

It's illegal to bring raw pork into the U.S. from Mexico. Mexican chorizo is raw--not cured like Spanish chorizo.
