How do I use Hulu?

Help! I seem to be turning into an old fart - I used to be able to figure out new fandangled stuff on the computer on my own, but for some reason Hulu defeats me. Perhaps my brain is already pre-mushified. I don't know.

Here's the problem - whenever I attempt to search for something I invariably wind up with either stuff that appears to have little or no relevance, or short excepts/clips of the much longer things I want to see. I'm getting the latter more often than the former, so perhaps there is some improvement, but I am frustrated.

Supposedly I can watch full-length TV or movies on Hulu? How? I think the longest clip I found was 5 minutes. That's neither a TV show (even after eliminating commercials) nor a movie.

hulu.com
TV
Browse
clicked on title
clicked on episode
watched

At the top there is a TV / Movies tab. Click TV. Then click Popular Episodes.

On the left there will be a list that says Programming Type. Click TV Full Episodes. That should only show full episodes of their most popular programs. HULU is wonderful, but the clips are a little annoying.

It can be tricky. If I recall correctly, you do as directed above, but you can also choose categories, sitcoms, dramas etc. Once you do that, ALL sitcoms come up, not just the popular ones.

So, go to hulu.com--> TV--> Channels--> choose category--> all shows--> actual show--> episode.

IMS, sitcoms are under comedy.

OK, thanks, I'll try that.

Now... what about movies?

Not everything is on Hulu, either. Some shows have full episodes up on the site, but it's not like you can find every TV show online and you can just do away with your television set. Also, some shows have SOME full episodes and a lot of clips. "Monk," to use a random example, has only five full episodes on Hulu, and 53 clips of stuff. "How I Met Your Mother" has NO full episodes, and 148 clips.

So it varies. Another legal site you can go to watch videos online is veoh.com; then there are plenty of sites with perhaps a greater variety of streaming videos than either of these websites, but the legality of them can be suspect, so I'm not going to link to them.

It is on tv.com, though. (owned by CBS, so it's legit.)
