Have You Checked Out HULU.COM Yet?

I happened to catch the Today Show and they mentioned that www.hulu.com was just starting.

It is sort of a YouTube, but with only television shows (full length) and movies (also full length) that you can watch for free - well, there are some commercials…

I logged on for a few minutes and it looks promising. They don’t yet have a huge selection, but for a new site to offer some free programming to kill some time on your laptop, it doesn’t look bad.

Wow. 52 episodes of Arrested Development…19 pages of different TV shows…

Maybe not everything, but I don’t think you’ll get bored soon.

I only wish that they had Simpsons episodes from seasons 2-8… only the most recent season is available.

I’m watching The Office now.

Yeah, I’ve been watching Hulu for a while now – got in on the private Beta. They’ve got some good stuff; I particularly love the Dragnet.

I’ve been using this for a few weeks now, and like it a lot. It’s great to watch It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia without having cable, and I look forward to finally trying out Battlestar Galactica and revisiting She Spies, to see if it’s as decent as I remember.

Apparently none of the videos I want to see are available in my region. What’s wrong with the UK, eh?

Damn IP-locators!

Cool, I can catch up on Lost. Thanks!

COOL!

Great. Just what I need, more options for watching TV. Fantastic, there goes my summer!

Wow.

Same for Canada. Click the “Learn More” button on the main page and you get this message:

Bolding mine. Looks like if we’re not in the US, we’re out of luck.

This is so super cool. Thank you! I’m watching The Big Lebowski, one of my favorites.
Movies for free AND the SDMB at the same time. I may be in heaven.

Yup. Wankers. At least pandora had the foresight to say, Sorry, you can’t access any of this stuff. HULU lets you browse all of their content, as if to say, Ha ha, here’s what you could be watching if you lived in the US.

Yeah, I should have read the whole thread before jumping on the link. I couldn’t view anything.

I’ve been on it for a while, but my broadband usually isn’t broad enough. It’s cool though when it works for me.

I’m just waiting for hulu.ca.

I don’t think so- Hulu is a joint venture between News Corp. and NBC Universal. I don’t see Lost- or any ABC/Disney show, for that matter- on their list. (If you search “Lost,” it gives you a link to go to ABC’s site. Is Hulu linking many non-Hulu legal sources for watching TV shows/movies?)
