(Ex-)Major Stefan Cook.....Bwahahaha! You cowardly nutjob!

Maybe you have heard of Major Stefan Cook. If not here is a brief rundown.

Major Cook was a reservist who was called up for duty to Afghanistan. Major Cook said, “You can’t make me because the President hasn’t shown he was born in America, therefore he is not legally President, therefore…Ppppffftt!!” He sued.

Orders, shmorders. A soldier’s duty and all that, bleh.

Instead of worrying about this birther nutcase, his military command basically told him not to worry, they didn’t need him. Personally, I don’t really want this idiot out defending me either. But here is the juicy part.

Cook works for a DoD contractor, Simtech, who was told by the DoD that Cook was no longer welcome at the DoD facility where Simtech was doing work. Of course, makes sense, you don’t want someone who challenges the authority of the CiC in Defense facilities.

Simtech, not really having anything for Cook to do…fired his ass. Well, they said they would try to find something else for him to do, but right now, they got nuthin’.

Bwahahahaha!!

I was not in the military, so you may want to question my ability to call this man out, but I cannot think of anything more cowardly than using a looky conspiracy to absolve yourself of your responsibilities to your fellow soldikers. Now another soldier will go in his place, be away from his or her family and face dangerous situations, while Cook collects unemployment.

Maybe he can find a green stimulus job.

Soldier sues

Soldier fired

Now, apparently two more a-holes have joined the suit…Maj. Gen. Carol Dean Childers and active U.S. Air Force reservist Lt. Col. David Earl Graeff.

He could always join the army.

Without a job he may be needing that public option for health care.

I’m all for soldiers refusing to ship to Iraq and Afghanistan, but this guy’s a total fucking wackjob. There are far better justifications for refusing.

Whatever reason a soldier gives for refusing a legitimate order is total bullshit, whether he’s a wackjob who thinks Obama isn’t President or a wackjob who believes that he should decide what wars to fight in rather than the elected government of his country.

I’m not. These assholes signed up for the military. The military doesn’t get to pick where they deploy, they don’t get to decide if they feel like taking that pillbox, and they don’t get to decide if they want to show up. They can go fuck themselves, and if you think it’s appropriate for anyone in the military to refuse non-illegal orders (and don’t give me some stupid fucking conspiracy bullshit about how Iraq and Afghanistan are illegal, because that’s retarded), then you can sit and spin because you’re a moron too.

There’s a reason the military is under civilian control. You can have all the political beliefs you want, but when you sign up for the military, you set aside your right to play political games.

What’s even stupider about the story:

“Maj. Cook, a reservist, volunteered to go to on active duty and serve in Afghanistan on May 8, 2009, according to Lt. Col. Maria Quon, an Army Public Affairs Officer at the Army’s Human Resource Command in St. Louis. Maj. Cook’s orders were publish on June 9, 2009 and according to Lt. Col Quon. Cook himself could have requested that his orders be cancelled at any time prior to entering active duty. Lt. Col. Quon stressed that Maj. Cook did not need to seek a court order to avoid going on active duty or serving in Afghanistan since he had requested to serve voluntarily and was not being forced to deploy.”

Yeah, I liked the fact that he signed up in May, some three months after the fake president was inaugurated, and then decided in July that he shouldn’t be fighting under a fake president.

Why, one might think that he had an ulterior motive to volunteering for active duty!

I will simply note that Major Cook apparently didn’t have any problem accepting his monthly reservists’ stipend between January 21 and May 1, during which time I’m pretty sure Obama was already President.

Dammit! Beaten to the punch.

ETA: Major Cook’s attorney is Orly Taitz. Quelle surpris!

Aw, you hurt my feelin’s. No wait, no you didn’t. I hope there are more soldiers like Matthis Chiroux, Ehren Watada, and Camilo Mejia coming down the pike just to piss you fuckers off. And you can go home, chug a nice, cold can of shut the bloody fuck up, then put it on your favorite easy chair so you can shove it up your ass without having to reach around as you sit down. Of course both tasks might be difficult, what with your heads already up there.

I don’t really have a settled stance on this issue, but your position as stated absolves all military genociders of personal responsibility. Or maybe you mean to add something like “except not disobeying the Geneva convention” or something like that?

ivn explicitly stated ‘non-illegal orders’, so you’re completely wrong.

“Genocider” is not a word. And ivn1188’s stance clearly delineates between legal and illegal orders. (Note: Genocide is illegal.)

Orly? Yah, rly!

When you sign up, is there an implied warranty or some guarantee that you will only be involved in conflicts with an approval rating of x% by the American people?

When you sign up, it is quite the opposite.

Don’t do invective well, do we? It’s a little more than the stringing together of random expletives. That effort had about as much force as your argument.

You haven’t proven that genocide is illegal, so I’m gonna go off and kill me some Irish, then sue you if you try to stop me.

Well, it is the name of a cocktail, but yes, it should also be illegal!

For some reason, it reminded me of this Monty Python skit:
