So after my most recent capricious warning on this message board, I have been informed that if I run afoul of the moderator caprice one more time, I am going to be banned, no warnings, ifs ands or buts.
So as far as I see it, this is probably inevitable as I am not going to make a special effort not to step on over-sensitive people’s toes. I just wanted to say good-bye.
I might make it over to Mellophant if that occurs, I might not. The SDMB’s dwindling subscribership will be less one ten year poster.
The thing is, it’s easy not to get banned around here. If you refuse to make any kind of effort to change the behavior that gets you warned, and in fact you keep doing the same thing over and over again no matter what kind of advice anybody gives you, then yes, you get banned sooner or later. It’s not inevitable, but what happens is entirely your choice.
LOL whatever, the most recent warning was completely unecessary. You were just on a tear this morning for whatever reason. I didn’t do anything that so many people don’t do on a daily basis. You just immediately threatened to lock my thread for no reason other than to be a … about it.
So in an effort to avoid the moderator caprice in GD, I’ll post threads that I KNOW will eventually be moved to GD in other forums if I don’t want to immediately skew the debate in one direction or another. They can be moved after the second or third post, so as not to offend your delicate sensibilities.
Or maybe my mistake was not using the usual transparent caveat of, ‘Mods feel free to move this.’
Whatever, mswas. I could have locked the thread immediately, but I invited you to post a real question instead of “someone say something controversial,” and you insulted me instead. I don’t know what you thought was going to happen there.

Looks to me like you got a warning for calling the mod a dick for the particular mod action taken. Think that’s pretty much always gonna draw the flag. In this thread, it appears you’re attempting to create a self-fulfilling prophecy of martyrdom. If that’s what you want to do, so be it. Good luck in your future endeavors.
LOL, whatever. I really don’t care. Last time I was suspended it was over mod created controversy. So most of my warnings come from that little debacle.
The stakes are low and I don’t back down to petty abuses of authority.
You could’ve locked it, or you could’ve waited the 30 seconds for whack-a-mole to spark a debate. And yes, I could’ve ignored you, and responded to whack-a-mole and the debate would’ve been sparked and what you said wouldn’t have mattered.
So whatever. I didn’t respect your authoritay and you really needed to show me that its meaningful. So I embrace the meaningfulness of your authoritay and am letting people know that I am treading on thin ice and won’t be around for much longer.
I’m not seeking a banning, but you have said it was certain, and as you were instrumental to the goading of the last controversy, I figure it’ll only be a matter of time til I say something sardonic that you interpret as insulting, and I get banned.
So whatever. I respect your authoritay, and recognize that by your authoritay, my time here is limited.

I said it was certain if you got any more warnings because you have had a ton of chances - I think you’ve had seven warnings in the last year and a couple after a monthlong suspension. If you keep calling people names and trying to play the martyr, which you appear to be doing right now, then you’re very likely to get banned. If you try following the same rules everybody else around here manages to follow, “petty authority” or not, then you’re not likely to get banned. It’s pretty simple stuff.

Dude, at the moment, you’re jumping up and down, waving your arms, and screaming “Ban me” at the top of your lungs. If you continue, I expect someone will grant your wish relatively quickly. Or, you could go grab a smoke, take a walk, or otherwise do anything besides continuing to beg for banning, and you prolly won’t get banned. Your call.
What martyr? I am just saying good-bye. The stakes are really low, so that pretty much insures a cheerful non-conformity on my part. I called you a name whatever, so I’ll be banned. I received a bunch of unreasonable warnings earlier this year that came from moderator antagonism where moderators ruled I should be able to open a thread only for it to be shut down, several times.
Basically the lesson here is that the moderators here are keystone cops, and as such, whatever. I’ll behave how I behave and you’ll behave how you behave.
I hope saying keystone cops doesn’t get me banned for name-calling.
I am not left-wing enough to get by the left-wing bias of the board.
