Slightly cross-eyed women. Attractive ?
A buddy of mine mentioned recently that he found women that are slightly cross-eyed to be very attractive.
I found his comment to be very interesting because I agree that there is something about a woman being slightly cross-eyed that can make her very cute or pretty. (cross-eyes being ones that go slightly in, not out). Maybe the same can be applied to women finding similar men attractive, I do not know. Anyway, anyone else find this to be an attractive trait ? Also, why would my friend and I find it to be attractive ? Just curious as to what would make it an attractive trait. |

The weird thing is, I thought being a bit crosseyed was a prerequisite for becoming an US newsreader/anchor, because almost all of them seemed cross-eyed. But then I realised that's what happens when they look at the camera and a teleprompter at the same time.

Huh? In a normal TV news setup, the prompter covers the camera lens. How would you look at the camera and the prompter at the same time when you can't see the camera?
I guess maybe if the camera is too close, they could appear crosseyed, though I've worked in TV news (and watch it pretty obsessively) and I've never noticed that... |

I can't say whether guys find her attractive, but I've always thought Jane Kaczmarek has a slightly cross-eyed look (and frankly, it creeps me out a little bit).

I am in China, and my Google Images searching ability is limited.
So I am not able to link to any photos to provide examples. China does seem to have a very large population of cute cross-eyed women, so I am happy

Not sure I find it attractive. I first thought of these two, not sure if they're cross eyed but there's something odd about the alignment of the pupils.
Michaela Conlin would look better if she wasn't: http://www.topnews.in/files/images/M...%20Conlin1.jpg Barbra was sexy in her early movies but that was more how she acted than her looks. http://www.americansongwriter.com/wp...sand_19621.jpg |

Lucy Liu always looked slightly cross eyed, and she is very sexy.
Also Demi Moore. So yes, it can be sexy. |

One of my first girlfriends, in about grade 7, had this trait, and I found it attractive: still do, but I have no idea why.

Slightly cross-eyed is not too bad and can be somewhat attractive. However, we have a local newswoman who is seriously cross-eyed, and it creeps me the hell out. I can't stand to watch her because her cross-eyed-ness is so distracting.

Because of their shape, my daughter has pseudostrabismus. Depending on the angle it looks like she has crossed eyes but the ophthalmologist says it's just eye shape.
She's certainly a cutie. Proof: http://www.flickr.com/photos/bellabrigido/4517953876/ |

Anthonly Burgess cointed the term "Venerian Strabismus" for this trait. On a woman with good bone structure, it can give the effect that she's looking at you wolfishly.
(isn't Scarlet Johansson slightly wall-eyed? Women with good bone structure are allowed a surprising amount of imperfection) |

Laura Bush always looked to me like no one was home. Then one day I realized it was because she is slightly cross-eyed. Some fine vacant attractive, could that be it?

I think Mary is pretty hot, albeit a bit young for me. She's also a bit ... used ... if you will. Again, not my type, but I guess I can see where the letching grays find the attraction. I can't find a recent picture, but last I heard she was hanging out in Hampstead village.

If woman were slightly cross-eyed, I doubt I'd notice. And if she were seriously cross-eyed (like my sister-in-law), I wouldn't particularly consider that a source of attractiveness.

I can't think of an example that would put me on one side or the other in this argument. But I have often seen comments online where someone has pointed out that they find a particular woman attractive because she was slightly cross-eyed.
I wonder if it causes one to pay more attention to the other's eyes in order to determine what they are looking at. It's been said that looking into the eyes of another can be an erotic stimulus. |

I've definitely found slightly cross-eyed women attractive in the past. They have to be attractive to begin with, but the cross-eyes seems to enhance the attraction somehow.

You guys that find it attractive could take Jethro Tull's 'coss eyed mary' as your theme song.
I don't find lucy liu very attractive. On the other hand, Joan Chen was absolutely stunning when younger and still attractive now at nearly 50 with 2 kids. |

He's not a woman, but Christopher Meloni is slightly cross-eyed--not so much in this photo, but he definitely looks that way on TV. I think he's hot, but not because of the eyes. |

This doesn't pertain to cross-eyed women, per se, but it might inform the discussion a wee bit:
I believe it was Edgar Allan Poe, in one of his works (maybe it was "Ligeia" or "Eleanora - A Fable"?) who wrote, "There is no exquisite beauty without some strangeness of proportion." (He was describing a woman's facial features.) I'm a hetero guy, and I've always found this to be true. Both the celebrity* females and the "real-life" girls that I've always found most attractive, have been somewhat "atypically" beautiful, somehow. *Some examples from my personal celeb crushes list: -Natalie Portman -Alexandra Maria Lara -Rachel Weisz -Angelina Jolie Now, it might be protested that all of these women are "conventionally" gorgeous. That may be true to some extent, I guess, but if you stop and think about it, quite a few of them have some very odd facial proportions. Jolie's eyes, for example, are rather oddly shaped, too far apart, and her lips are too big, like comically big. Weisz' face is rather squat, and her eyebrows too heavy. When I think of women like Gwyneth Paltrow, on the other hand, it's almost like she's TOO beautiful (i.e., not strange-looking enough). I find her to be downright boring. Not hot, because there's nothing interesting going on with her face. So yeah, I can see this. I think there's something to it. |

Well, since the ice has been broken with respect to attractiveness of cross-eyed men, I’ve long noticed sumpin’ going on with Derek Dooley, University of Tennessee’s head football coach, but I sure don’t mind:
http://blogcritics.org/sports/articl...fer-to-coach1/ (No, I don’t want to Google “what the hell is up with DD’s eyes?”, although I suspect it's some other (minor) affliction rather than crosseyedness.) Ramp up the intensity and ramp up the hot: http://seattletimes.nwsource.com/htm...72_grid16.html Last edited by Angel of Doubt; 12-06-2010 at 08:25 PM. |

When I was in middle school, I started noticing that there were certain girls I found very attractive, who had a certain quality to their eyes that I have never been able to properly describe. It wasn't quite cross-eyed, but I understand that attraction to very slightly cross-eyed girls, because it's in the same realm as this feature. The best I could ever put it was that their eyes look "upside down." My friends would all think I was crazy when I first told them this, but then I'd say "what about Leslie?"
"Hmm..." "And Carrie?" "Ahh..." "And Emily?" "God damn it, you're RIGHT! They all have upside down eyes!!!" I still occasionally notice girls with this feature and chuckle to myself about it, and I'm still attracted to it. Can't really think of any celebrities who exhibit it, though Rachel Weisz perhaps sometimes shows flickers of it. |

I've noticed this, but never given it much thought before. (I wonder if it's partly self-selecting: I stare at the woman's face because I find her attractive, then notice the crossing?)
I went to Google Images and typed "cross-eyed women." This thread showed up(!) on the first page along with Lauren Sanchez. I doubt eye-crossing has much to do with it, but Ms. Sanchez is definitely attractive! |

I don't like people with crossed eyes at all, and it doesn't look attractive to me...but most of the pictures here don't seem to be cross-eyed at all. Do you guys mean something else? When I think of cross-eyed, I think of the eyes towards the center, almost pointing at each other. Do you mean when one eye is drifting? I think that's creepy and my favorite kind of guy has eyes that look straight on, right into your eyes and your soul.

Regarding Michaela Conlin in posts #8 and 10 and 12(which are old, from April), it's not that she's looking to the side or that one eye goes in a different direction, I think she has one eye actually higher on her face than the other. It's pretty obvious in that photo, but you can see it in other images also.
Editing to agree with Anaamika, lots of these people look totally "normal". Doesn't everyone have some degree of crosseyedness, (I forget the technical term), but no one's eyes point straight forward like headlights. Last edited by Angel of Doubt; 12-07-2010 at 12:53 PM. |

Slightly crossed eyes are super sexy on a woman!
Dude, I go absolutely bonkers for a hot woman with slightly crossed eyes. It's so f-in sexy! I found out recently that my Dad is the same way. We had never talked about it so it must run in the family. I think I figured out why I think it's so sexy... when you get really close to a girl, just before you kiss, her eyes cross if they are still open and she is looking at your mouth. That is super hot. So if a girl's eyes are already crossed when you see her from far away, you get that same feeling you get just before you are about to kiss. Keep in mind that I am talking about SLIGHTLY crossed eyes...not super crossed or wall-eyed.

The Mayans considered strabismus attractive, so they arranged beads or something to dangle right in front of a baby's nose, so the kid would grow up cross-eyed.

I find crossed eyes jarring at first. But I get used to them easily. I end up locking eyeballs with a woman who has them crossed. Many women seem to prefer men looking at their eyes, so maybe they find it advantageous if they're not sensitive about it. Wild eye is a little harder to deal with, but these are trivial characteristics, something I might notice at first, but would quickly forget about.
I heard there's a cross eyed bear named Gladly. |
