I had a meeting scheduled with HR today to discuss a possible promotion. The woman from HR didn’t show up. No email, no phone call, nothing. I dropped by her desk 15 minutes after our scheduled start time, and someone said she went down to the Cafe or something.
I understand we all miss meetings once in a while, but this is fucking important to me, and I’m pissed that this fucking bitch from HR doesn’t have her fucking shit together.
The part that pisses me off the most is that I’ve still got to meet with her at some point and be all like “Oh, don’t worry about missing our meeting. It’s no big deal. Blah blah blah.” Usually, you blow off a meeting and I disable your fucking network logon or something.
I hope she catches the clap from a toilet seat. Bitch.
Yeah, that’s bloody annoying, if it’s habitual behavior; OTOH, no biggie for me if it happens every once in a while.
Some years back, the HR manager of the outfit I was working for insisted that I had to report for a meeting with him, would set a time and day, then cancel at the last minute. This happened four times in a row. Finally, I just said, “Look, call me when you are ready and I’ll go right then and there”.
I don’t understand why HR would be involved with giving a promotion. In my industry HR only gets involved with personal issues like conduct, new hire orientation, or current insurance benefits. What if everyone in your department agrees to it, but HR doesn’t? Why would they say no? Serious question.
