I'm firing one of my employees this morning

He was supposed to be here at 11:00 to meet with me, but as of 11:15, there’s no sign of him. No email, no phone call, no nothing.

Does he know the purpose of the meeting?

Regards,
Shodan

To be clear, is the firing because of being late for the meeting, or was the meeting to discuss the exact terms of the firing?

If he’s not there to be fired, can you still fire him?

Maybe when the clocks strike thirteen?
In April.

Did you check Room 101?

He could feel a disturbance in the force, I’ll bet.

(Sorry to hear you’re waiting on a guy to fire his ass. Neither the waiting, nor the firing, sound like pleasant chores. Good luck!)

According to the internal clock of the SDMB, you posted this at 10:10 a.m. Central Time, perhaps 11:10 Eastern. Give him five more minutes.

Please tell us you’re firing him for chronic tardiness!

I hope he’s not being fired because of being 15 minutes late one time.

No, twice.

If my boss fired me every time I’m late from work, I would have been fired well over a thousand times by now.

When the local news has a story about a guy found half dead in a ditch you are going to feel like a real heel.

Maybe he’s trying to finish the TPS reports before the meeting?

Say, this isn’t a “ceramic glaze” firing is it…?
Because… ouch…

Someone has a case of the Mondays!

Somebody else has a flair for words.

Of course not, Clay Pott is a real person!

Is this fire e from Sector 7G by any chance?

Relax, he’ll be there at 4:20.
