I predict Tina Fey winning this round.
I don’t think there are even five funny people listed.
Limit it to five? Honestly, of the ones I know, Tina Fey is the only one I would consider anything near funny (and I could rattle off 10-20 males with no difficulty who are funnier than Fey).
mmm
Oops. I voted before seeing the “limit to 5” rule. Sorry.
Several of these I have never heard of.
Janeane Garofolo used to be very funny once. More recently, not so much.
bump
Stephanie Hodge cracks me up.
And Laura Kightlinger has a wicked sense of humor.
No Roseanne? (I checked the other page)
No Lucille Ball?
Alas, no. But as we are still striving to find a comprehensive list (these “preliminary” polls are just step in the process) of legitimate “funny women” to choose the funniest (or best) from, those name surely deserve mention.
Roseanne has alreeady appeared as a contender for least funny or most offensive in a current poll with a title similar to that, if you wish to give her your support.
Sadly, this is the first metion of Lucy that I can recall!
At this moment there are 8 polls dealing with the world of stand-up comedy along with at least three non-poll threads on the category. I’m trying to work up some statistics on all of them with the idea of starting yet another thread to discuss the implications of the interest (and lack of) this topic has at the time.
Stay tuned!
Can I cast five anti-votes to cancel out five potential Lisa Lampainelli votes?
Excellent – I know it’s not the most popular opinion in the world, but I can say without hyperbole that she is the most overrated “funny person” ever. I love funny, and she’s as far from it as you can get.
Preach it!
If the aliens ever do arrive and obliterate the planet, it will be because we have been broadcasting Lucy out into space for so many years.
I share your lack of appreciation for Ms. Lampanelli (enough so not to check on how her name is spelled) but so far she has no votes in this poll. She’s doing great in the offensive/unfunny poll where your hate vote might be better applied.
Lucy’s “comedy” doesn’t age well when compared with the cutting edge gals of today. But she owned comedy when I was younger – much younger.
