With Mr. Romney visiting Michigan on Thursday, Mr. McCotter let loose some barbs a day earlier, telling Michigan supporters that “our struggling families, entrepreneurs and workers think Mr. Romney and Mr. Obama are not rivals, they’re running mates.”

Yeah, that's an interesting development. With Romney as the frontrunner, McCotter is trying to get a dig in. McCotter is a (very very very very Very) darkhorse nominee into the field of Republicans seeking the nomination of their party.

I thought there weren't going to be any ideological purity contests over there this year.

McCotter is my representative. Ironically, I think he's got a LOT in common with Romney; he's totally out of touch with his constituents' needs and interests and has never cast a vote I agreed with. I wouldn't vote for him if the other guy was an inanimate carbon rod.
