You have to admire Gary Trudeau of "Doonesbury" as a scripter

Jeff the slacker son has been around Doonesbury a while and has many adventures, but that it would ultimately lead to this is still pretty amusing.

One of my favorite bit of scripting for the strip was the time you saw Uncle Duke in front of a firing squad (he was in Iran during the hostage crisis). Then absolutely no mention of him for a year or two.

Finally, one strip had the Iranians releasing a prisoner known as "the bald spy." No name, but everyone reading the strip knew who it was.
