Avengers 2 is all but certain with the amount of money that they are raking in right now. People are already talking about who should be included in the team. What say you? If you want to cut someone, please share who you would cut. I’m tempted to say Hawkeye, but he’s my wife’s favorite. I think she has a thing for archers.
For me, I would leave the team the same to allow them to grow more comfortable with each other. Another hero can be mentioned or have a minor role in the background, but they should not officially join the team.
I doubt they’d add more than one member, unless they cut someone…and Hawkeye seems to be the most expendable. I don’t see much point in keeping Hawkeye and Black Widow, and I don’t see the team going all male.
I’d like to see another female, probably Ms. Marvel or Scarlet Witch, and if they cut Hawkeye, maybe pick up The Vision.
I like the current team. If you add anyone, it should be no more than a cameo. War Machine, maybe, would make sense since he has already been introduced in the Iron Man movies.
No changes. Scarlet Witch would be a ridiculous addition - way too powerful for the movie Avengers. Just keep the same team and let them develop. The next movie will be a wild enough ride without stirring in a bunch of fanboy dreams.
Six is a good number I think for an ensemble cast.
I’d be happy to see the Hulk cut, simply because it fits his character to be more of a loner than a team player. I think they could afford to cut Hawkeye, but personally I’d be happy to see him stay.
I’d like to see the Wasp in there. Although I’d much rather see the accomplished businesswoman version of Janet than the valley girl superhero version.
I can’t see the Scarlet Witch getting a gig to be honest, for a couple of reasons
The movie makers (both Avengers and Thor) seem to be specifically avoiding outright ‘magic’, with Thor’s & the Asgardian’s powers being made ‘indistinguishable from magic’ technology. And I can’t see how to do that with the Witches powers,
Even a lot of the comic writers seems to struggle with using her properly, going from having little noticeable power at all to being off the charts powerful,
Who owns he X-men rights at the moment? Has that come back to Marvel? If not ,I wouldn’t want to see her background severed from Magneto, which would have to be done if Marvel don’t have the character rights at the moment.
As someone who hasn’t followed comic books, I can’t give a strong opinion. Still, I feel like it’s worth pointing out that the options in the poll omit two characters who are conveniently already in-universe for this series.
A S.H.I.E.L.D. Map in Iron Man II shows that S.H.I.E.L.D. is monitoring Wakanda.
In Captain America it’s not established where Howard Stark got his vibranium from, but given S.H.I.E.L.D.'s interest in Wakanda, the two may be related.
Oh! Oh! A great way to do that…Jennifer is brought in as the team’s legal counsel at the same time as Bruce manages to put the Hulk side away for good, but stays on as a technical support for the team…there’s a combat sequence, Jennifer is injured and gets Bruce’s blood, she gets hulky…all can be established in 5-10 minutes.
(Note, I haven’t seen Avengers (or Cap, or Thor, for that matter), yet, so if Jennifer’s already involved, well, that just makes things easier!)
I’m torn because there are so many Avengers that I’d love to see in the movie universe but I think this group worked perfectly and I’d like to see them continue developing as a team together.
In some perfect world where I could add any characters I wanted (regardless of rights) and the movie wouldn’t feel overcrowded I’d definitely add Spider-Man first. I’d also love to see Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, Luke Cage, The Wasp, maybe Black Panther, and also Bucky.
Giant Man and the Wasp. They were pretty good in The Ultimates. GM provided an example of how with great power comes great capacity for screwing up. Plus, opens the door for the introduction of Vision.
I don’t think Black Panther would be seen as a token when Nick Fury’s boss.
Yeah you can. It’s just Stark who builds Ultron instead of Pym. JARVIS is an AI program that’s already established in the movie-verse. Once Stark Tower become Avengers Tower in the sequel, JARVIS runs it and becomes “self-aware” and corrupted somehow. He uploads himself into a new prototype armor and boom Ultron.
Regarding rights to Quicksilver and the Scarlet Witch–Marvel has said that their rights are such that whoever uses them first gets them. So if Fox puts them in the next X-men movie, Fox will have them for as long as they have the X-franchise rights. If Marvel/Disney uses them, they have them.
