College Football Belt -- Marshall vs. WVU

It’s perhaps worth noting that as of this post time there’s not even a school page for Marshall at http://collegefootballbelt.com/index.htm so the potential for some far-afield moves for The Belt is about as good as it’s been in a while.

Speculate away! We have until September for the dust to begin to settle. No telling where conference changes will take us.

It makes you wonder if The Belt will have any bearing on the intensity of the WVU-Marshall rivalry, or if it will even be noticed. Anybody close to that issue who can shed some light there?

If you Google “college football belt” you’ll see that the SDMB is not the only site discussing it. Maybe it will catch on

My latest check of the website still has no data for Marshall and I’m wondering why not.

The 2012 football season may be weird enough to keep that as a side note. But I’m curious if anybody else has The Belt on their radar.

I just emailed the site asking for a guess as to when Marshall’s team page might be up. I’ll report when/if I get an answer.

Either nobody’s working that site during the off season or they don’t respond to emails. Maybe their feeling coincides with the attitude at On The Line Podcast – Week 1 Lines (Part 1) where the game is being given pretty weak odds:

Marshall (+21.5) at West Virginia

I have yet to go looking for the last time a previously unmentioned team played a Belt game, so maybe this is usual treatment.

All I know is that I’ll be watching that game and pulling for Marshall. I’m not sure I’d be betting on it, though.
