Lion vs Bear who has won more in the past?

Eh everybody, so being this was one of the biggest dual's of earth's top predator's who do you think won more in the past, the Brute himself Bruin the Bear, or the King of the beast the Lion?
-
Please only think of these as a hypotetical situation if you voice your opinion an be respectful to other's who dont agree, an I'm searching for more of people's knowledge of past event's that way there's no parley on animal conflict's of geralizing the topic, but more of just learning of these 2 majestic beast past conflict's for educatonal purposes only.
-
I'll share some for everyone who hasent any detail's on subject so far...

THE OAKLAND TRIBUNE APRIL 1, 1895 "A DRAW" PARNELL FIGHTS A BIG BEAR.
THE LOS ANGELES TIMES APRIL 2, 1895 "BRUIN THROWS LEO

At 4 P.M. yesterday, in the bull ring at New Laredo, Mexico, the African lion Parnell fought a terrible battle with an enormous grizzly bear of the American type. The attendance was large. The animals fought desperately for two rounds until completely exhausted, but contrary to expectation, neither was killed. It was a bloody combat.
The crowd went wild when twice the American grizzly threw his African opponent and erstwhile king of beasts, so hard upon the ground that once, had time been called according to the usual rules, the lion would have been counted out
Throughout the battle the lion showed more agility and treachery.
Parnell is owned by Colonel F. Daniel Boone, the lion tamer, and is the beast that killed its keeper at the Midwinter Fair.
The bear is somewhat larger and heavier than the lion, and was secured at New Orleans where he killed two keepers.
It is the first time on record that such a combat has taken place. Mr Zarcombe, editor of the Laredo Times, was fortunate enough to secure four excellent instantaneous photographs of the battle. The fight took place in a large circular steel cage twenty feet in diameter and fifteen feet in height.
No more thrilling spectacle was ever witnessed than the spring made by the lion as he bounded into the cage, with a magnificent leap fully fifteen feet, and grappled with his antagonist.

Yeah I know it come's off as animal abuse, but most of my account's had the animal's fight pretty much on there own accord. It does suck that they were pitted in the past, but you have to learn your past good or bad, that way you can further halt an prevent future attempt's.
-
But basically both would never had encounterd the other in the wild, other than asia of asiatic lions an asiatic bear's. But again purley for seeing who was the more dominant animal in the knowledge of animal Cosmolgy of the animal Kosmos, apperantly everyone goes by the bigger fish alway's eats the little fish, which has merit's of being somewhat true, but we arnt talking fish now are we?

But anyway's, yeah just curious on an opinion that's 100% hypothetical, thank's. ^_^

As in the monkey's will try an burn the bear's hair's off? I guess that's theoritically possible, but highly dought the bear wouldent take invasive action an maul the monkey, beside's those ape's have hair as well an they might light themselve's on fire accidently as well, an foooom no hair on there body, just like this chimp...

So this is what GD has become? Right then. The bear with the candle in the bedroom. Bad as this is I doubt I can describe the (amazing) sexual details prior to the kill in this forum.

ETA: Shouldn't have mentioned the candle in the bedroom.

-
I had seen an account of an organtunum which is those massive red arangatang apes, it's a documnetd pitfight with a tiger an they tied a knife to the ape's arm, it was pretty barbaric, he tryed to climb out but couldent he lashed a few time's at the tiger, but the tiger killed him...that same account was in austraila of an illagal gambling ring, it also had a Kangaroo kill a silver back gorilla in the next fight, I was blown away when I read it, I still have the article if you'd like to read it?

Some people think that the honey badger can beat up a lion by chewing the lion's testicles off (they're wrong, but that's what they think).

Well, Ditka would totally chew the honey badger's testicles off, before putting his cigar out on the lion's nose, and punting the bear right out of Soldier Field.

So let it be writeen. Ditka rulz!

Just to inject some seriousness into this (yeah, I know, too late)- According to QI, bears win. The reasoning is that bears are, in general, just tougher. They used, as evidence, records of this fight being done in bear-bating pits, and that bears tended to crush the skulls of lions. The bears would often die later from wounds sustained, but they tended to survive the initial onslaught well enough to make the kill, whereas the predatory lion tends not to have much in the line of defense.

Quite dissapointed really...the mod told me I was a bump junky, I was merely appreciating the fact that I could learn more...I figure the more people view the better the chances of running into someone that can contribute there knowledge.

I mean Fighting ignorance is this sites main theme right?

An I dont think that thread was all that crucial in terms a bad subject...I did make it clear that I wanted it mainly for educational purposes...not really complaining its no biggie...just saying theres like 50 threads about rapes...molesting...killing, an all other types of weird crap I yet my thread gets shut down?

Oh well's say la vi...thats life, I gues its just a matter of time beofre this thread says adios mucha-cho's.

Not to speak for the mods but it seems like you're only interested in fighting ignorance specifically for 1-vs-1 large mammal fighting and participate in threads as such. I do see that you've branched out to police dogs recently, which is growth. I do find your research fascinating though and have often told people that I know the world's foremost chronicler of lion/tiger fights.

A modified Tu-95 Bear was used to drop the 50 megaton Tsar Bomba, the world's largest nuclear weapon. Foolishly, the Soviets neglected to test this weapon's effectiveness against lions. However, given that the radius of total destruction was larger than the city of Paris, it's probably fair to say it would give the lion a serious limp, at the very least.

It sounds like you're taking your ball and going home? Feel free to do what you want, but let's not pretend threads about animal fighting are on some elevated moral plane above threads about peeing.

Well thats because "You" an basically the average person who looks in the threadare only and mianly looking at who wins..."Me" I get to learn about over 20 cultures who have them, there past affiliational propertys, like the

Greeks mosaics art in forms of Tile-ing, art like the great picaso's an leonardos, who some artsist have recorded lions an tigers...which is in appreciation also for the art.

Indians rituals an coexsisting....like how they idlezied an built giant mountain sized statues that survuved over 4,000 years old, which is in terms archeologically important to there cultures.

Tapestry of britain, there fine weavings of 1,000 year clothing material that they used to make art.

I also learn there attributes an anatomy from weights, senses, social life patterns, abilitys an trails they go threw from scientist, and biologist.

I also get to learn of there circus life, how not all as the media portrays circus life as abuse, but some have more prosperous lives than any wild tiger or lion can ever achive fame that had some just as famous as a movie actor...which brought joy to the people who apprciated the art.

Basically all the cultures in the world have some type of memorabilia an story to be told that relates to this subject...I have already stated that I probably will give it a 50/50 no matter how much information leans on either or's side, I'm just trying to learn the truth along the way...take it in how ever way you wish...it means little to me what any sceptic will say...I just post things the average pesron will never get to see just from a fast google...sometimes you have to look an put a litte work into it.

I asked them once to re-open an they said no, so thats that. Again its no biggie, I aint having my head down an kicking my ball...I'm still going to shoot some more hoops.

Been a while.

Looks to be at a lack of luster, but indeed its okay....as for posting essential post that catters to this subject, I found a nice subjective out-lit in a better formating style that aids organizing what I present.

So I'll just leave this link for anyone who cares to learn a bit more on the subject, (since alot of other forums and ask sites have been popping out lately protaining to the qeustion on who wins more)

http://teamauthority.myfastforum.org..._about729.html

and its to bad that this site shut down the L vs T, like that subject above, it seems like yahoo answers (weekly) has the same question in who usually wins more lions or tigers, and since I perfected what I like to call the basics, I'll just leave this link in case anyone wants to learn too...

lol I'm always going to be around mate, I just came in for the cruzz and thought to post what I did because I noticed this subject was being brought up everywhere for some reason, maybe because its the new wave of....

Out with the old and in with the new I guess.

But I dont mind people favoring the tiger, I like both equally(plus the competition of a good debate), I just want people to know the basics, instead of what crap the internet pollutes and clouds the mind now days with. I just Pm'd Ms. Ellen cherry (Admin/mod)to see if she can pro-long the lion vs tigers thread on here, we'll see if she's kind enough to oblige...dosent matter if she dosent really, just cruzzin and figure I stop in to say hey.

It also seems that in terms how many sites out there show faulty, non-creditable, fictional books, bias content, fake and edited along with repeating lies and consealing the truth its just about...10 to 1...Good odds for any Greek lol

But thanks for the intrest and support, no dought we'll find a conclusive answer in the near future.

^_^

Since you decided to revive this old thread, MyLord, rather than wait for an answer from me about unlocking lions vs. tiger (the answer is no), let's confine your animal-fighting discussion here. There is something going on regarding a chain saw, and of course you're welcome to join in that fun.

But remember last time you were told to stop obsessively bumping your thread with gleeful announcements about how popular the topic is. That directive still stands.

Carry on with the carnage.

Howdy,

Hey thats no biggie, I wasent really counting on it...as I told you I was just cruzzin. But I usually only post in the most popular subjects of the forum and or something else of intrest, I'm part of another forum and I do post alot in other topics if you must know, I dont alienate myself to one subject.

But to be honest, nothing really strikes me of great intrest here...for instance, if you go to the search catagorie and type in which thread has the most views, your top 30 are all to do with idiotic and sexual related profoundancy's, such as...

-How to deep throat (Sexual)
-Whats the less painless way to commit suicide (Idiotic)
-why do people shake there legs (Idiotic)
-Erections while cuddling (Sexual)
-How long do virgins last (Sexual)
-The cum gyser (Sexual)
-Weird turn ons (Sexual)
-What do penises taste like (Sexual)
http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/...c&daysprune=-1
And on and on and on of vaigly idiotic or sexual things that I'm just not comfotable in discussing, let alone ever think about.

(No offence) But I'm starting to think this is a less than medicore forum (in terms respectable) with all the idiotic and ridculous threads being made daily, now I'm not saying the thread that I made is in any way a good thread, but it is a more sought out to be safer then the majority of threads you've allowed over the lion vs tiger which you shut down, with out even giving me a warning...how fair is that? But again I really dont care all that much, it dosent really matter, there are literally tens of thouands of other forums out there I figure I ask one more time since I liked the title of this forum...

Fighting ignorance

But again its no biggie and I usually post in what most people look into...as you can see its more than average, in the millions...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PUnqQxIERkM

So you cant really tell me that people arnt intrested, it is a arcaine subject, but a intresting one at that, look at the thread I made, it actually came in at one of this forums top 40 most viewed...not bragging, but it might seem that you just shut me down because I was being friendly in finding people who knew things on topic, via more views means more chances I might run into someone who has knowledge on lions and tigers, hence I was being a little fanatical with the views...but if you would have asked me to stop I would have been more than happy to oblige...but did you? No, so that is why I felt un-justified via I asked if you can re-open it.

If you have question about how the board operates then open a thread in ATMB.
