Now that Paul Ryan is almost certain to be Governor Romney’s running mate… As usual with my polls, feel free to pick the candidate you support even if you can’t vote.
Could the mods please sticky this?
This poll is NOT public incidentally.

Is it possible to change Joe Lieberman to Biden?
Yes please. Lieberman huffs mad dongs.
I think this poll is useless, in that it will only prove what everyone here already knows, that this is a left-leaning board. I predict the results will be something like 70/30 Obama/Romney. You should have included Bert and Ernie as a selection if you wanted your poll to be the least bit unpredictable.
Well I think the poll was pretty much fated to exist, and that’s why I included two Third Party candidates.
Do you think your ultimate poll results may be affected by the Ryan pick? If so, toward which candidate?
I don’t think Romney’s VP choice would affect the vote here.
Well, the Libertarians and the Greens are pretty much the Berts and Ernies of presidential politics, and equivalent to having an ‘Other’ poll option.
That’s interesting, because I do. I can see some Independents falling on Obama’s side of the fence because of Ryan.
I chose Obama/Lieberman because I think that would make some really funny cabinet meetings.
Done. Also this is probably the first time this question has ever been asked.
Can we change Joe Lieberman to Droopy Dog?
To be fair to the OP, I think it’ll still be an interesting result. If nothing else, the individual names will tell us something about other posters.
I predict more like 80/20.
Not sure why this isn’t a public poll. I pick Obama.
Thanks for the edit.
I wonder if that would have changed matters in 2000, though.
Is it possible for a poll to be converted from non-public to public? I also would have preferred to see the names.
I think the poll is inevitable and interesting, not wholly useless–though I think it should live its normal life and not clutter up the sticky zone.
I’d prefer it stayed anonymous. That’s how it was first presented, and many of us rarely participate in public polls. If people want to announce (or it’s not obvious), they can clearly do so here. No need for this to be some bellwether of people’s bents. Plus, most poster’s political leanings come through in their long-term writings. A public poll would be an excellent/annoying source of faux neutrality (i.e. politicalhackofaposter: what are you talking about, can’t you see I voted for the other guy!)
I think 80/20 is a bit high and reflects the posting habits more so than the makeup. A substantial reason for this is the high rate of inanity that comes from the Right Wing Marketing Machine. Stupidity is politics-neutral, but Fox, talk radio, and tea party financiers have been loudly marketing to them for a long time. A conservative’s view of, say, immigration reform has to compete with the shock-value of a Bachman position. They may get to the same place (somewhat), but the points that get discussed are at the absurd fringe. Consider the occupy movement. There is no shortage of chuckleheads, but you don’t have an entire network devoted to them, nor a large-scale push to highlight the fringe elements. If you did, the Stupid Liberal Idea of the Day thread would be much more prominent.
Before I voted, 80/20 seemed a bit high, too. But from the results so far, it looks like 80/20 will be a bit low. Right now R and R are running neck and neck with “Other”.
I chose Obama, and I think we should leave the poll private. People might vote differently if they think someone’s looking.
Reviving this poll for the last few weeks of the election. As I have indicated elsewhere my original vote on this poll has changed from Governor Romney to President Obama.
I missed this- could you talk about why you support Obama now (or link to the post you already talk about it)?
Actually, I think you can change Joe Liberman into just about anything at all.
