what even is this? i see it every day, with a new pic and a new “word” you gotta type to “have your mind blown!”
it is inconceivable that anything could even MAYBE happen, is it not?
the comments go into the thousands, sometimes tens of thousands, and read something like
jump
Jump
jump!
JUMP!
jump
nothing happened
jump
JUMP
hey nothing happens does this work for anyone?
jump
jump
More of just your garden-variety troll. I very much doubt they read all the comments, just stroke their e-peen at how many comments and shares and likes they get.
Sure hope not, because it’s probably a fairly short step from that to downloading malware or viruses when you click on the image. Something I’m going to start pointing out to my clueless friends… “At best, you know EXACTLY what’s going to happen. At worst, malware!”
there was one I did which if you type a certain number with a : and a 0 surrounded by your post was changed to a Facebook person’s name. It was creepy.
it’s, for example, a photoshop of a bear out of frame w a guy on a mountain top, and it says “OMG comment “jump” and watch what the bear does!!”
then like literally 16,000 people trying it, to no avail. the only reason i bothered asking is because sometimes it will say “this function is currently busy” and won’t let you comment, but that is, i believe, only an overload of simultaneous idiots commenting. i thought i’d ask on 1. the off chance that “function” was more than i am aware facebook could do, and because 2. googling it only brings you back around to the actual posts–there’s no outside facebook threads on it so far, so you fall into some kind of coriolis drainhole of the interwebs.
I have seen pictures posted on Facebook which change after a few seconds of viewing but the only one of the type in the OP I’ve tried (with due scepticism) didn’t. The ones which do change are of the type which say something like “Can you find the spooky thing in this picture?” Click and stare at the picture trying to find the spooky thing and “BOO!” it undergoes a “scary” transformation.
Ugh, no sooner did I visit facebook after reading this thread that the latest comment on my feed is one of these. It’s a pic of PSY with an optical illusion background with a plea to comment “GANGNAM STYLE” and see what happens.
It’s got 23,000 comments. Many of them misspelled. And I’m not the slightest bit surprised at the friend who commented on it to make it appear on my feed.
