Assume that you’re trying to explain to someone what it means to be voluptuous and that they have trouble with dictionary definitions of such words.
Who would you pick as the prime example?

From the list, probably Mansfield, Russell, and Hendricks though they all are or were quite shapely. Kim Kardashian could be on that list as well.
The classic examples would be Marilyn Monroe and Jayne Mansfield.
A modern example would be Christina Hendricks or Sofia Vergara.
I think of “voluptuous” as not just big boobs, but with some meat on her bones as well. Salma Hayek and Angelina Jolie are too skinny. Possibly Monica Bellucci and Liz Taylor as well.
Angelina Jolie is pretty much the opposite of voluptuous.
Not on the list: Dolly Parton
Several of these are too skinny to be called voluptuous. Certainly Bellucci is.
Voluptuous women are filled out everywhere (which is not to say fat). I suppose I’d think of hips as being the most signal curvature.
Sophia Loren - even today!
She had/has the right combination of perfect body, face and attitude - plus that sexy accent and the ways she moves. She also knows how to dress - elegant but sexy. Even if she were not famous, I doubt she could enter a room without every single person - male or female, straight or gay - taking a long look and going, “Wow!”.
Anna Nicole Smith
I have no problem voting for Christina Hendricks, but I think the perfect addition to this poll would be Elvira! And maybe Dita von Teese. Can you tell I like brunettes?
I think in a UK dictionary you’d find a picture of Nigella Lawson under voluptuous.
I picked Christina Hendricks. Scarlett Johansson would be another good one not listed.
My first pick, too.
I think Salma Hayek is definitely voluptuous. Did you see her in From Dusk Till Dawn? NSFWish: Sexy Montage
But I voted for Hendricks.
Jennifer Coolidge. Also, Kat Dennings.
I voted for Sophia Loren, but I think Ursula Andress ought to be on the list. Va-va-voom!
I voted for Hendricks rather than any of the silent-screen stars who really set the bar, because if I’m looking for an example, I want somebody people who haven’t figured out what this means will have seen: if somebody doesn’t know what voluptuous means, by my way of thinking, they probably haven’t seen Sophia Loren or Racquel Welch in their day.
The people who voted for Sophia Loren* cannot possibly know what “voluptuous” means.
*not a knock on Ms. Loren.
Marilyn Monroe or Anna Nicole Smith.
My wife!
I vote Ashley Graham. Ever since seeing that Lane Bryant commercial, I’m definitely hooked.
