You think s/he's hot? Are we looking at the same person?

Inspired by this thread and the minor argument therein about whether Jennifer Love Hewitt is all that, I’d like to ask what allegedly fair damsels or studly stallions do you like at and wonder what everyone else sees.

I’ll start with Jennifer Love Hewitt (though I admit her tatas jiggle nicely, I prefer smaller ones myself, and her face is distressingly equine). And I’ll add Uma Thurman and Birttany Murphy.

I see you don’t like the horse-faced girls.

Personally I think Colin Farrell is not hot. I don’t see the appeal.

Cameron Diaz and to a lesser degree Catherine Zeta-Jones. Cameron is pretty self explanatory in my book. She looks very average to me. Whereas Catherine is an attractive women, but I’ve had the opprotunity to see her without makeup and let me say there’s ALOT of work that goes into that look.

I don’t see why Jennifer Aniston is considered to be anything special. She’s not ugly or anything, just completely unremarkable.

Liza Minnelli.

I’m with you on this. I think he’s downright unattractive. Richard Gere and Warren Beatty are my nominations.

I tend to see beauty in most women but, I have heard a few women say Celine Dion is classically beautiful and I go WTF? She is genuinely ugly to me.

JLH is very attractive but probably will not age well. She may have peaked at 18.
Brittany Murphy is Cute. Uma is beginning to leather face but was very pretty when she was younger.

The truly ageless beauties are rare. Audrey Hepburn will always be the mark to compare against. Even in her 60’s she still had much beauty and elegance.
Almost all people don’t age as well.

I found Amanda Plummer was cute in some films and she is cast for ugly.

I have always found Lili Taylor very pretty and I have heard many deride her.

On the other hand, Brittney Spears is sexy but not really pretty to me.

“Classically?” I don’t get it at all. She’s not attractive.

Celine is classically beautiful in the sense that Medusa was.

Uma Thurman. I just don’t get the appeal, and I can understand most people differing with me, but … Uma Thurman? Who are they seeing? I see a pale, popeyed, skinny creature with a bony face and a decidedly un-womanly figure. What the heck do THEY see?

Don’t forget her big feet, which Quentin Tarantino has always seemed obsessed with.

Selma Hayek is supposedly pretty, but I don’t see it. I’mnot into the big-jaw thing.

I’ve always said that, to me, Madonna looks like she came in second place in a shovel fight.

I am baffled that Brad Pitt is thought to be a sex symbol. To me, he’s someone that I’d need beer goggles to notice.

Orlando Bloom.

He looks like he’s 5 years old.

I’ll second Uma Thurman - all I notice is the shape of her nose, which is sort of weird.

Several that have already been mentioned, Uma Thurman and Cameran Diaz topping the list so far. But I’ll add:

Drew Barrymore. Another women who is just average, yet touted as a huge sex symbol. I got nothing wrong with average women, but why they chose this one is anyone’s guess.

Paris Hilton. Though it does seem that 99.99% of the Board agrees that she’s not attractive, the rest of the world, however, didn’t get the memo.
And, while I do find Halle Berry very attractive, it seems the rest of the world thinks she’s the hottest, most beautiful woman to ever grace God’s green earth. Huh? What annoys me most, is that she, for a time at least, was practically the poster-child for the nerw, “curvy” Hollywood. Ex-squeeze me? Halle Berry curvy? We lookin’ at the same woman? While certianly has more curves than, say, Paris Hilton, she is not what I would call curvy. Jennifer Connoley, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Kate Winslet. THOSE are some curvy women.

The fact that she’s been seen naked by so many people probably helps. She’s not hideous, but she’s nothing special- if she wasn’t famous, she’d just be some skinny blonde.

Ah, Kate Winslet. Whatever angel was in charge of the design team for her phenotype did quite well.

Now Paris Hilton I’m conflicted about. On the one hand, I’m in that 99.9% who thinks she’s hot. On the other hand, I wouldn’t come within five feet of her without a full-body condom, or perhaps my Iron Man armor.

As for Drew Barrymore, I think it’s that her personality (or rather screen persona) is so likeable that she gets points for that. I have a friend who is the same way: only slightly better looking than average, but she’s so smart, sassy, and funny that every man who knows her is in love with her.

Back to my original topic: Jeri Ryan. I think she can act, and I think she can sing. But the ultimate hottie she is not.

Julia Roberts. Her front teeth are size of paving stones.

I’ve never been one for the scrawny babes. For example, I think Karen Carpenter in her pre-anorexia days was beautiful. In her last days…

Some of the movie ladies I’d like serious huggin’s from these days include Rachel Weisz, Diane Lane, Renée O’Connor, Penelope Cruz and Anne Hathaway.
