Oolite (open source Elite clone) & OXPs (mods)

I know some of you have recently (some no so recently) tried Oolite and have been looking for suggestions of which OXPs to add. I have a bunch in mine, mostly ships for extra variety, some equipment, a few new stations, and a bit of quality of life. Those that are grouped together come in the same OXP, which does not have its own page on the Wiki.

Go thread.

I loved Elite back in my Amiga 500 days, though I don’t think I got past a “Mostly Harmless” rating. It’s been a while since I played Oolite (even built a ship for it when I started out - The Longshot).

I may have to reinstall it and have another go.

Played enough Elite on my C64 that I eventually rated Elite … and got bored.

I played Elite II, and I really enjoyed that. I tried Oolite, but discovered I liked Elite II better.

Yeah, you probably should wait for multiplayer Elite II (aka Elite: Dangerous) then.

Recently encountered a Fer-de-Lance pirate that seemed to be guarding a hoard of cargo pods.

Taxi contracts are very lucrative! A few more of those at 10K+ each and I’ll be able to trade in for a bigger ship.

Seedy Space Bars are a great place to sell wine & food, and buy narcotics. Drugs are often less than 1 credit per and can sell at Rock Hermits for over 50!
