Why can't Fox be easily detected?

Every time I pass by a TV with news on, occasionally I will wonder why it is blasting such idiotic things. I wish there were something, ideally in the lower left hand corner of the screen, that would let me know what channel it is.

There…is? Fox News has its station identification at the bottom left of the screen. Maybe I’m being wooshed here?

An easier way to tell if you are watching fox is asking yourself, are the anchors either characters who look like actors in the movie Wall Street and/or are the anchors attractive blonde women. If yes to either it is probably fox news.

This appears to be becoming a meme.

…Stop it.

With advances in computerized speech recognition and automated queries, it should soon be possible to have your smart TV access factcheck.org and reject non-factual news programs.

Unfortunately, the feature will let the user specify the list of websites for fact-checking. Arguments about control of the remotes will escalate to a new level.

Well, there isn’t. But, if there’s a Republican involved in a scandal and the subtitle or newscrawl puts a (D) after his name, it’s probably Fox.

There is a thread in ATMB called “Why can’t Socks Be Easily Detected?” I suspect this is a parody of that OP.

I would say, imagine what a 24hr news network run by the Aryan nation would look like. Now compare that to what you’re seeing. The closer you get to a 100% match, the more likely it is that you’re watching Fox.

If we’re not being whooshed, I thought there WAS an ID of what you’re watching at the bottom corner of the screen. When I served on our local PBS board it was called “the bug.”

Why can’t mocks be easily detected?

Yes, this wasn’t an entirely serious thread, as given away by my referring to their bug in the corner.

Which doesn’t mean that I’m not mildly annoyed when I see a blatantly spinning or completely inaccurate headline and go “wtf” for a second before I realize it’s Fox. Which it usually is, but not always.

I’ve heard that FOX hires those beautiful women because men will watch them. The words they’re saying don’t register but do penetrate into the subconscios mind.

Can’t you buy a gizmo that can change any public TV to a different channel of your choice?

Because the Fox that can be detected is not the true Fox.

No, there’s no such gizmo – but there is a gadget on the market, and a thingamajig too, with the functions you describe.

An easy test: if you are in the vicinity of a TV set and find yourself thinking uncharacteristically stupid things, check the station the TV set is tuned to – it’s probably Fox News.

Fox news nuts are fanatics, too. At work, they sneak around the place changing all the channels to Fox and one lady told me that “All the other channels are propaganda.” Yes, that is a quote.

This wins. That is all.

Today I pulled some plants I thought were weeds. On closer inspection they weren’t.

Why, oh why can’t phlox be easily detected?

Were they your wife’s favorite flowers? Even if so, you’d not want to trade places with this guy, who wishes docks were easily detected.
