When I say "Dave" who's the first person you think of?

Title says it all…

Letterman

“Dave’s not here.”

HAL

The Kevin Kline movie.

Dave Foley

He actually goes by Dave, so it comes to my mind immediately.

Who?
Which is to say, this.

These are the Daves I know.

Letterman, which is kinda weird, since he’s always been introduced as “David Letterman” and that’s the name on all of his shows. But he’s definitely not the first David I would think of.

Second would be Kevin Klein.

What cochrane said. I think we are showing our age.

Brubeck is who I was thinking of when I did the OP, but others on my list:

Gardner (Brother)
Macon (Uncle)
Barry
Clark
O’Brien (Tex)
Cortez (Baby)

Letterman

Another vote for “Dave’s not here”

“Oh, Dave! Dave’s not here, man.”

Me

“Sorry Dave, I can’t do that.”

That was my first thought.

Letterman.

In order of thought:

-Kevin Kline in the movie of the same title.
-David Letterman
-“Open the pod bay doors, please, HAL.”

Here’s one I bet not even a geezer will mention: Garroway.
