Snot cake

Let’s say I have flour, sugar, butter, raising agent and a cold.

Can I make a small sponge cake, using excess mucus in place of eggs?

Need answer fast - I have a dinner party tonight.

Snot wouldn’t have the protein structure of eggs.

Since this is about cooking, let’s move it to Cafe Society.

The CS mods are going to hate me for this.

I’m too scared to ask what you might use for frosting.

But don’t medical questions go in IMHO?

I dunno, but I hope you make it and tell us how it turned out.

It’ll be the spitting image of a sponge cake.

I expectorate a detailed desciption of how it came out (the cake, not the mucus).

It’s the layer filling you need to be concerned about.

“ice cream”, Yeah, that’s it…

Remind me not to attend any of Bozuit’s parties.

I make my cakes with cellular peptide (and mint frosting).

Say. . .wait-a-minute. . .OMG, THAT’S NOT CHOCOLATE!

I’ll have a piece off the shoulder, please.

“Say, Bozuit, is this cake from a mix?”

“No, itsnot.”

In what way? I’m genuinely interested in an answer to this question, although I think I’ll skip the experimentation.

Everything will be all right once the cream custard arrives.

You know, I love a challenge but even I can’t explain why I am googling this. Except I want to know now…since the eggs primarily act as a binder I think it could probably work if you had sufficient quantities. Now excuse, me I have to go retch!

I don’t know if you can use mucus as an egg substitute, but it turns out you can use egg as a mucus substitute: Google

Aaaahhhhgggg! I am dying here.

You know what you need to serve before this cake? A nice risotto.
(I will try to find the link, but suspect someone will beat me to it.)
