Here’s the Washington Post’s article on the incident: Anesthesiologist trashes sedated patient — and it ends up costing her
To summarize, a man goes in for a colonoscopy. He turn on is recorder so he can remember his post-op instructions. As it turns out he has the recorder on during the procedure, and records the anesthesiologist talking shit about him. He takes the Dr. to court and wins $500,000.
How do you guys feel about this?
Personally while I think what the Dr. did was an abomination and she should be punished some how. However being an ass hole isn’t against the law. So I agree on a fine for malpractice, or misrepresenting information on a medical record. The rest, I’m not so sure about.
