Step right up, folks!

Our very own (and very huggable) Medea's Child will be hitting 2000 posts very shortly. And I think she could use a few hugs.

So here's your chance to hug an honest-to-goodness SDMB honey! That's right, men, women, and children of all ages will benefit from the magic that is hugging Medea's Child! Do you have gout? Leprosy? Tuberculosis? Lice? Black plague? Rampaging body odor? Ebola? White spots on your fingernails? One hug given to Medea's Child is the cure to all that ails you! Yes, her magic touch is world-renowned! Why, she's so gentle and full of light that once she even healed an injured spider with the smallest touch of her finger!

*whispered ooohs and aaahs*

And all this is yours *absolutely free*!

*applause*

But wait! There's more! If you act now, and she deems you worthy, the incredible Medea's Child will even hug you back! Wow folks, isn't that an amazing offer?

*emphatic nodding from the audience*

You don't think we can top that, do you do?

*the audience shakes their heads "no" in disbelief*

Well, you'd be wrong! For a limited time only, the spectacular Medea's Child will... allow you to catch a smell of her gorgeous golden locks while you hug her!

*the audience goes into a wild, standing ovation, followed shortly by a mad rush to the turnstyle*

Now, now folks, one at a time...

Now some of you guys are going to want to take the opportunity to drop your hand just a little bit lower than is appropriate. All I'll say is... Hey, me first!

Congratulations, Kathryn.

I don't need the hug, but I would like to say thank you to one of the most gracious (and tolerant) hostesses in all of the University of Pittsburgh. Next time (although considering that I still haven't paid that parking ticket, there may not be a next time), I promise to find a hotel room.

Robin

Hooray for you!

mrblue, I saw a competitor offering the same thing on another channel. If I hug Medea, how will I know I'm getting the best?

Surely a saavy consumer such as yourself must recognize that this is the one, original Medea's Child. All other offers are quite clearly mere imitations! But to ease your mind, there is a money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied with your hug, merely return the unused portion for a full refund.

I'm just wainging in line until the 2,000 event, but in the meantime, could you help this teeny tiny little frog someone just missed lobbing a bocce ball on? I think the little bugger has post-traumatic stress.

This serves as an embarrassing reminder of how much I run my pointless mouth all the time. I've been here less time and have more posts, and they've been much less substantively spent.

I'll be here tooting horns when you pass the 2000 mark. Beware all the bugs and glitches and stuff...

Crud...I'm just going to hand out hugs early...I have a paper to write.

A big hug for Steve, even though he's being silly. (Probably because he's being silly)

A respectful handshake for MsRobyn, it was a delight having you.

BunnyGirl, this is the only official outlet for Medea's Child hugs. Accept no imitations. *hug*

ts as I said I'm handing them out early, due to time constraints before O. Chem. (you don't want an after O Chem hug...trust me) *hug*

Cranky I just needed your inspiration. And as for substance, do you read my posts? Even in GD most of my comments consist of *drool*ing over hot guys. (Today in IMHO, that guy in Pitch Black...) but thanks for the vote of confidence. One day I will have something important to say, and say it I will!

You've been going through my mail!

Congratulations, Medea. Sure, I'll take a hug, even after Organic Chem. Heck, some of that might help with my fingernails...

Congratulations on 2000, my darling Kathryn.

BIG huggles, smooches and lots of hard pear cider coming your way. And.....of course, the obligatory hot tub is off the truck and set up in your back yard. Or Steve's, or wherever you want it. I brought the vanilla scented massage oil, too.

Love you, baby!

Cheri

The 2000th post is made...

And the peasants rejoiced.

Children everywhere, of all nations, creeds, and colors, joined hands in peace and sang a song in joy. The Israelis and Palestinians wept upon realizing their years of bloodshed were at an end and agreed to end the violence. Leaders around the world decided that armies and wars are a thing of the past and destroyed all their weapons. Everyone suddenly understood where everyone else was coming from and became tolerant of each other.

And then I woke up and looked around. Crap.

I think I'm going back to bed.

2000 *hugs* for you, dear one. Ace that exam tomorrow!

Ah, but you forget your first thread in MPSIMS ("Fear," I think) about having weird tests done on you. That was plenty substantive (hey, that's a word! Cool!). And it got you to meet me.

Sorry about that last bit

*Great BIG hugs*

Shoot, I didn't need to be sold on these hugs. As soon as I read it was Medea's Child, I knew I was getting the best.

Congrats, darlin.
