I have just been invited to a housewarming party with a theme:

Come dressed as someone famous "Dead or Alive", whether someone from reality or from your favourite movie, book, comic or magazine ....

Pretty broad!

There are 5 of us (3 girls and 2 guys).

We have already thought up a few but there is no clear winner as yet.

So if you could help me out I would really appreciate it!!!!

Li

The cast of Gilligan's Island would be fun, but then one of the girls would have to be the old lady. How about dressing like the cast of the Rocky Horror Picture Show? There are enough characters to go around.

How about the characters of the movie/game board Clue?

http://www.geocities.com/col_mustard_2000/cfiles.html

Scroll down to find the outfits of the characters. It could be fun to bring a Clue board game or the VCR version (as a gift too?) to the housewarming.

That is an excellent idea!!!

Keep them coming people. This, unfortunately will decided by committee so I will need lots of options.

Gilligan's Island was a good one as well. Hmmm. I would be Mary Ann I think.

Go as the Reservoir Dogs. You'll need one more person to make up the numbers but if that don't happen just drop mr Blue. He hardly does anything anyhow.

The Wizard of Oz?
Gee, this is difficult...

Deep Space Nine?
A chess set?
Abba?

These are no good, I've got my numbers all wrong!

I knew of a group of friends who once went to a "picnic with the pops" event as The Luncheon of the Boating Party by Renoir. They all positioned themselves at the table exactly as the people in the painting.

This would be sort of hard to do if you had to move about, but I love the idea as going as people in a painting. Is there a particular work you all love? Or at least have the right number of people to portray.

once went to a halloween party where everybody had to come as characters from wallace and grommit. i went as the "techno-trousers (ex-NASA)", which i made using a hula hoop and my impressive sewing skills, hubby went as the chicken/penguin, we had the garden gnome who sits on top of the secret exit that wallaces motocycle comes out of, someone else came as preston, the cyber-dog, one woman came as wendoline. it was a really fun party!

Surely.....a bunch of us went as "Gumby Brain Surgery" to a big party.

Funny thing was, we became better Gumby's as we drank more

Go figure...

The Globetrotters would be great! I suggest Scooby Doo characters.

Or, do you remember "The Karate Kid"? Do you remember the Halloween costumes? Have one person in a shower get-up, and the other four in those black skeleton suits.

The guys could go as the Bobbsy Twins.

The girls could go as Huey Dewey and Louie.

Or

The Marx Brothers (there were five of them) Harpo, Chico, Groucho, Gummo and Zeppo.

I have to give a big thank you to everyone for their ideas.

YOu all gave such good ideas.

Of course when you go in a group the majority rules.

We ended up going as every bad KGB agent from every bad spy movie.

I have to say I was disappointed as there were so many good ideas here.

I had heaps of fun though and we all talked in Russian accents all night.

Thanks again.
