In the interest of fighting ignorance, I dropped by the local porn shop yesterday, and was surprised by the number of titles about young wifes (hitotsuma). There wasn’t a separate section on incest, let alone “a pretty big selection of incest videos,” as claimed below.
Count this gaijin as one who is quite entertained, although knowing the realities of Japanese sexuality, I have my own fantasies.

TokyoPlayer and Sublight, I don’t have a cite. It is rather from personaly experience perusing the adult video sections of various rental shops in the area near my home and place of business. Perhaps I shouldn’t have qualified incest-related videos as a “pretty big selection”, however I would reckon the average was between 20-40 titles. Many times they are mixed in with the “hitozuma” or “jukujo” films, which do comprise a larger portion of the video racks.

Yep, they’re pretty fun. I don’t think I’ve ever encountered anything they write about, but they occasionally provide some real information if you read between the lines.

Purely in the interest of science, I stopped at Jinbocho, a Mecca of porn, on the way home. I did find a store with 32 titles of incest, but with over 2500 titles in the store, this is just a little over 1%. While this was more than the ones devoted to fisting, it paled in comparison to scat, and on par with the number of grossly overweight women.

I knew Jimbocho as the home to a Belgium bar, that had about 50 or 100 kinds of belgium beer in the appropriate glass. I went there a lot, but never noticed the Mecca aspects of the area. Is that something that’s happend over the past 15 years or so, or has it always been a specialized mecca? Course that was back when mosaic was the norm…
You still have the mosiac, but it covers much less area than before. I’ve only gone to Jinbocho for about the last 12 years, and it’s been pretty much porn city during that time.
