If I was going predict which one you’d know, Jeff Lisandro was my LAST guess!

DQ: Living?

BTW those were Lucifer and Charles Lindberg, respectively.

shrug I play poker

DQ: Died after 1900?

The letter is L

  1. I am not living
  2. I am not American
  3. I ‘died’ after 1900

IQ: Were you a dying traveling salesman?

#1 was Red Adair
#2 was Robert McNamara
#3 I was thinking of Ray Kroc, but again I goofed - he didn’t found McDonalds, he bought out the McDonald brothers and made McDonalds what it is today - Richard McDonald, one of the original McDonald brothers would fit, however. (There was a Ronald in the family, but he wasn’t closely involved).

IQ1: Are you a peer of the realm who famously went missing?

IQs:

  1. Were you one of the founding trio of the Legion of Superheroes?
  2. Were you an ornithological artist who became better known for your poetry?
  3. Does your comic-book influenced art sell at auction for millions of dollars?

What are the rules on what names “count” in our game? For example, what letters out of A, D, M, V, F, S and B would fit for Alessandro di Mariano di Vanni Filipepi, better known as Sandro Botticelli

S and B. He’s best known as Sandro Botticelli, and anything else would be misdirection.

And for say, William Thompson, Lord Kelvin, whom I reckon is equally well known under William Thompson and Lord Kelvin, would W,T or K be acceptable?

In that instance I’d say so, though others here may disagree.

Thanks, I was stricken by doubt as to whether some of my IQ candidates - such as Paul Neal “Red” Adair were valid and wanted to clarify the rules. Others, like Robert “Tank” McNamara are just plain wrong based on misfirings of my brain that I find out when I do research after posting the question.

We’ve had discussions like this here before. It’s good to sort 'em out first. Well done!

Correct on Lana Lang.
Lord Louis Mountbatten, who had been the last viceroy of India.
Lancelot Link, Secret Chimp.
