I remember that there were some tense moments a few years ago when some of us were discussing MP3 programs, like iTunes. (This was before the iTunes store was launched.) Obviously a lot of us used iTunes for the ripping of our own CDs, just so we could listen to them as we worked on the computer. There were (and are) books for sale on Amazon.com titled “iTunes for Dummies” or something like that. iTunes (and other MP3 players) were pretty mainstream, and there’s no reason at all to assume that they’re always being used to play illegal content.
But the discussion was frowned upon, Big Time.
Now, I’m not a big fan of blatant illegal sharing of copyrighted materials, but iTunes? Come on.
But hey. This is their board, and if they want to be extra careful, I guess we should all understand that.

P2P is leagal but the purpose that 99.99% of the people use it for isn’t.
It’s a pity as I’ve downloaded most P2P software just to see how it works and compare it against the others out there. I’d love to swap stories over a coffee but maybe some other time 
That’s probably because political debate and most deviant sex aren’t illegal. Drug use, OK, but an admission of past or current use isn’t going to bring much trouble to the poster.
And even an innocent post about I use “XfilesharingP2Pprogram” turns things sour when someone else goes and googles that and uses it for illegal things. That’s probably what they were talking about.

True, they’ll allow discussion of drug use, unless it gets into “Here’s the best place to get hooked up with weed” or “What’s the best way to get high off common household chemicals?” or other advice on how to do something illegal.
So does that mean I can’t post my instructions for creating a bong using only a large plastic bottle, an electric drill, an unripe banana, and a goat?
Well, that could be called a “water pipe” and used for tobacco, so I’ll help you out and post directions.
1: Leave banana out in the open near the goat
2: Wait until he eats it.

4: Drill a hole in him to try to find it
