December 7, 2001...

A date that will live… in infamy. Or at least in our minds for a few days, maybe a week or two.

Wow, that’s an ouchie - lost everything from December 7 to February, what, 11th was the day it went out?

Still, a minor price to pay. What did we lose? Anything entirely memorable? It’s been so long since I’ve been here, I’ve forgotten. (I do notice ATGG V is gone, so I’ll have to re-start that.)

Yeah, I know :frowning: Now I’ll never find out why Manhattan was so pissed of at Percy Bysshe Shelley.

OTOH, doesn’t that mean that most of the Australian Business is gone?

Yippee!!! We’re back!!!

So, all we lost was a couple of months worth of stuff? Thank goodness, it could have been much worse. Hey, now I get to use my 500th post for something worthwhile this time.

Hm. What does this knock my post count back to, I wonder.

Just fell under 6000 again.

Esprix

Whoa. December 2001?

The greatest bulk of my white noise posts were in the year before that.

Bet it’s about half of what it was before…

So…where the heck am I supposed to post the answer to Sunday Morning Puzzle #41?

I know ONE thing that was lost was Scylla’s Ewes Sluts II thread. I know it’s missing 'cause I had bookmarked it to read later, just tried it, and it can’t be found! :frowning:

We also lost Eutychus’ big mystery threads. Did he ever reveal what it was?

See here

Oh, let’s see… JUST ALL EVIDENCE OF MY EXISTENCE ON THIS BOARD! I created an account sometime after December 7. I had a few very memorable exchanges that are now lost to the ages. What a loss to mankind!

lol Esprix, when I saw your subject line all I could think of was “a day that will live in infamy”. and you HAD to go and beat me to the punch…

My doper vacation thread is gone. I suppose I’ll have to recreate it.

One post that is gone, gone, gone is the superlong (like maybe 9 feet if it was on paper) post done by Osiris in “Yet another Doper name game” over in MPSIMS.

It was a beautiful post, categorizing hundreds of Dopernames into nice little categories. The coding! It was inspiring…
