Dib and Gaz live with their father, Professor Membrane. I don’t recall hearing what happened to their mother.

I’ve never heard it mentioned, I always just assumed she left them, seeing how that entire family is screwed up.
Or maybe the professor made his own kids without the mother. He’s a scientist and all.
