10 hour back-up on I-5 iin Seattlle

The snow is falling more heavily now. Getting close to five inches here.

See the disclaimer in my post. We have a different municipal system (council/manager), so while nothing gets done here either, it doesn’t get done more efficiently.

Well, we didn’t make it to Sequim. We had a lovely dinner at 13 Coins. Snow is all but gone and its sunny and 70° here in matthews beach. (Not really.)

On my walk home on Monday night, I actually screamed at a couple of drivers and parked their cars for them by forcibly pushing them towards the curb. I just can’t figure out why people are so stupid- it just boggles the mind. I grew up in the northern great plains and practiced my snow driving by parallel parking on the other side of the street using the handbrake as a teenager so I am quite qualified snow driver, but I still bussed and walked home this week because, “it’s just not worth it to drive in snow!”

That said, I was teaching my CA-raised partner how to drive in snow and ice and it is really surprising how much thinking does change. I think I will actually start a new thread to talk about what exactly snow driving rules are.
