10 things I hate about Ronald Reagan

From CNN:

Three kids is correct.

Oooh, burn! You sure told me.

And you won’t be even remembered by two pit twits! What a twerp!

Maureen died several years ago. Ron Jr., his sister (can’t recall her name) and Michael (Maureen’s bro) are still alive.

Nitpick re. President Carter’s “Desert One” attempt to rescue the hostages in Iran: embassies and their grounds are construed in international law as the territory of the guest nation. IANALawyer, but I believe that when Khomeini & co. fomented the popular uprising that overran the embassy and sacked it, that legally constituted an invasion of U.S. territory and an act of war. The taking and abuse of hostages, over such a prolonged period of time, were highly egregious crimes and human rights abuses.

IMHO, practically any measures that Carter could have chosen to undertake to bring the hostages home was fully legal and ethical.

There’s a big difference between disagreeing with someone’s politics and celebrating their death. I might not agree with your politics, how would you like it if I celebrated your death (assuming you were capable of knowing about it, of course)?

Although, this isn’t the only post of yours that has convinced me that not all your dogs are barking, but that’s another thread for another time.

Good job differentiating yourself. Put another way, good job becoming what you hate.

When was this golden time when no one would say nasty things about anyone in the Pit, Sam? Care to back up that whine with the hard cheese of some actual plausible story about how this never used to happen? Are you so sure it never happens to liberal figures?

You’re right, I forgot a kid. I was so used to hearing about three of them back in the day that I forgot we had a fourth.

Oh, sure they didn’t, not a single one. As well, I assume that the increase in dual working couples has nothing to do with women having a greater ability and right to work now than they did in the 70s. Of course, most women would not need to work now either, if the average American family were willing to accept a standard of living of the 70’s, which could be provided on one income. Of course, it really wouldn’t hurt us to stop being so damn materialistic; that part I agree with.

Yep, thank god Reagan put an end to that.

Any port in a storm. Of course, I’m sure you were omniscient and knew what would happen there before 1991.

I’m with you here; screw the rest of the world. We should move in when it suits our interest to take what we want. Enough with trying to improve conditions outside of our borders.

I think these can receive the attention they deserved grouped together. Oh look, a penny!

I wonder how many conservatives would be lining up to eulogize Bill Clinton if he died.

Since I didn’t respect Reagan while he was alive it would be dishonest for me to feign repsect now. His death does not give me any pain. Neither did Nixon’s. I’m not going to lie and say I care if I don’t.

Yes, see The History of HIV/AIDS in the U.S.

This is what I hate about Mr. Reagan’s presidency.

Seriously. Where do silly fools like you come from who are deluded that all the nuclear weapons in the world have been beaten into plowshares? The threat is still there. And, does it make a whole lot of sense that the leaders of the Soviet Union, while dining on lobster and shrimp served by the waiters, would say “Gee, it sure sounds like a good idea to launch all our nukes at the US later today”? Reagan did nothing to lessen the threat of nuclear weapons being used.

PAR-TAY TIME!!!

TEQUILA!!!

YEEEEEEEEEHAWWWWWWWWWW!!!

You just made my whole fuckin’ year!

Where is the grave gonna be? Cause I’ve got a REALLY full bladder right now, see…

YEA, Let us know when you Mother and Father Die!

htns, you are scum.

Do you know who the Nazis were? The Nazis gassed and cremated 11 million people (6 million Jews, 5 million Roma, homosexuals, Communists and other "undesirables)in camps that were really factories that manufactured death.

I opposed everything Reagan did back in the 80s, but this is beyond the pale.

You should be ashamed of yourself.

Have you never been glad someone died?

If you have…that makes you scum to ya know.

Mmm, sorry, milroyj, I missed this. I honestly don’t recall if it was here or in real life. I only remember thinking that the word should only properly be applied to tyrannical governments, or possibly monarchies, so I looked it up to be sure. After looking it up, I was sure I was wrong.
