Wasn’t his house. He was living with someone else in the other person’s house.
Roddy
They just reported on the local news that his caretaker claims visits from his granddaughter would upset him. Hard to know now why that escalated into a stand off with a SWAT team.
Firstpicture I’ve seen of the guy.
Such a shame. This must of been going on for awhile and thats why he bought a gun a few weeks ago.
It doesn’t explain his firing at the cops. But I guess at 107 he just got confused and disoriented.
I am guessing when the police hear gunshots - they assume he is shooting at them. How “accurate” those shots are - I don’t know. If he couldn’t see through the door - he could only be guessing about where they were. And if I know anything from TV SWAT - they were behind shields and probably in very little danger.
How is he even supposed to negotiate after tear gas and grenades - if he is hard of hearing and half blind?
I can’t get my dad who is more than 20 years younger to answer simple questions in less than 10 minutes.
He is so old - it is possible his granddaughter had dementia.
They tried the negotiating first. After tear gas and flashbangs, you’re supposed to be putting the gun down and your hands up.
Yes a much better tactic would be to wait until someone gets hit before returning fire.
