If you liked Pulp Fiction, you will probably like 11:14. I had never heard of this movie before, I have a feeling it was never shown at the major movie theaters. Maybe it was only shown at festivals?
Like Pulp Fiction, there are several stories weaved into one, with a peppering of dark humor.
If you like this type of suspense movie, definitely check this one out.
Wow, I just don’t see the comparison at all. I’m not a Tarantino worshipper but I can very easily understand and appreciate the difference between a once-in-a-generation cultural phenomenon (Pulp Fiction) and a decent way to kill 90 minutes (11:14.)
11:14 wasn’t bad, there just wasn’t much to it. Utterly forgettable.
I didn’t mean to put 11:14 on the level of Pulp Fiction as a revolutionary film, just they have the same way of rewinding and telling the story over again through a different pair of eyes. Also, the dark humor aspect is a big part of both films.
Of the last 20 DVDs I have rented, at least this one kept my interest from start to finish.
I do need to be careful about touching sacred cows like Pulp Fiction though, so the uproar is accepted with humble apologies.
It wasn’t bad, I enjoyed it and there was some silly humor. What struck me was the work the writer (s) must have done to get the script to mesh at the end, and keep track of who was whom.
