I liked it…I loved…laugh all the way thru. Used turtles, the shocking Bob, Jimbo’s quote… all funny for me…
So the Simpsons is supposed to be the Jack Benny Show?
Well, that would certainly explain the frequent Dennis Day guest shots.
its a rule… if a show is good or popular it becomes really l33t to watch it every week and then go on at length about how much you hate it and how you have hated it for half of the last decade that you have watched it religiously.
Bingo!
Seeing someone spouting off for attention in this vein makes me almost automaticaly discount everything they have to say. Why don’t y’all just have “elitest poesur” tattood on your foreheads and save us all the three minutes of our lives it takes to get to know you before we decide you’re worthless?
The masseuse sinking into Homer’s flesh was one of the funniest sight gags I’ve seen in a while. Hilarious.
When I compare the new shows to the ones shown in syndication, which I watch daily, I find the new ones far funnier.
But wait! Isn’t someone who attacks Simpson attackers for trying to be hippper than thou just trying to establish themselves as being hipper than the hipper than thou?
And by attacking the hipper-than-the-hipper-than thou Simpson attacker attackers, have I not established myself as hippest of them all?
Oh, the heck with it. Let’s all get drunk and play ping-pong!
No, I am the hippest. I think that last episode sucked so much that I didn’t even watch it! That’s how much it sucked!
The OP’s assessment of this episode was overly harsh. Not the best, but certainly not the worst.
I did think the “shocking Bob” bit was done too much. Also, while I liked the musical number at the end, it did smack of padding.
And Lisa hates Dr. Suess? Who would’ve guessed it?
I liked it when they had a stuff dummy of Homer out to see who would attack him and all the townsfolk came out to randomly assault him, even Homer himself.
Patty to Selma (after nearing decapitating the dummy with some object she hurls): “Go, he’s hurt.”
That was the funniest scene; the rest was merely okay.
