Any cop would have shot him. The fact that you guys are making it seem like a conspiracy is odd. You don’t run from the police, and you don’t aim weapons at the police.
These cops are people. They have wives/husbands at home.
I’m not gonna get shot by anyone. I never ever want to have to shoot someone. When someone points at you first, you got to do what you got to do.
If I had to bet, I’d put money on the story that the kid pulled his own BB gun, and the cop’s story is accurate.
But let’s not be naive. We’ve all seen cops who didn’t know they were on video shooting people in the back as they run away, and then plant weapons on the dead body. Cops going up to a guy on the ground, pulling out their gun, and shooting them. Cops kicking the shit out of someone while screaming “Stop going for my gun! Stop resisting!”. And the story would be perfectly plausible, except for the video.
So any time I hear a perfectly plausible story about how the cops had no choice but to shoot somebody, I wonder what really happened. Probably in most cases the cops are telling the truth.
And we know this how? Is there video? Because I seem to recall some instances where what the police stated in these situations wasn’t backed up by video and in fact were outright lies.
I agree. I’ll bitch RO in the other thread, but from the linked story, and with the absence of other information, this shooting looks tragic but justified.

No one is saying that cops are allowed to lie you dense mf. I am saying that in this instance it looks like some people jumped the gun :smack: on assigning blame. We don’t know yet. The information isn’t all on the table!
If you are saying some cops are bad cops, then yes I agree with you.
If you are saying that this cop is a bad cop, then we don’t know yet.
The circumstances from what we do know so far, it looks like a horrible thing has happened. A kid is dead. Never good. The cop did what he had to do. I am sure he isn’t happy or proud about it. His life is important too.

There is no indication that anyone has lied.
There may be some indication at a later date. We have no way of knowing. Until we have some indication, we accept the story that is plausible in all respects. There is an ongoing investigation. Let’s wait for the results
