We use a CO2 powered pistol to dispatch raccoons around here. Most of the time it’s been either a one or two shot kill, and by that I mean fall down dead, not lingering any length of time.
You’d need to get the right spot, but yes, a CO2 powered gun could at least potentially kill an adult human being. There are definitely some airgun rifles that could do the job, too. They aren’t toys, even if they aren’t strictly speaking firearms either.
Seriously, Boff - think about it. You’re chasing a possible suspect in a robbery. He pulls out a gun. You have maybe a half second or less to react. What do you do? Yeah, you’d shoot. Either that or you would be dead if you decided to wait and see if the gun was a toy or not. You just don’t have that luxury.
It wasn’t murder. At best, it was Darwinism in action.
Am I the only one who doesn’t think this is funny here? If you were to pit his mom for poor spelling and making bad choices, go for it. In the thread where we’re discussing how he died? Probably not.
In this case, I have only ignorance of the actual facts. I do hope we get more body cams- the kind that can’t allow the captain to say “oops, it didn’t work today haha oh well.”
I have to admit, I thought of a similar joke, but had enough sensitivity not to post it. So, I can’t say I’m offended by it. That would be hypocritical of me. So, go and get the handbasket ready. Anyway, I have heard his first name pronounced as “Tyree,” instead of the thing that goes on the wheel of a car.
First I want to say I’m an American and I own firearms .
With that said , boffking did you bump your head ?
You do know that there millions of firearms in this country , right ?
Most are owned by law abiding citizens, but some are in the hands of the criminal element.
Why would you want our law enforcement to be unarmed . Do you think they should have bulls eye targets painted on their uniforms ?
…and the Police Service of Northern Ireland (part of the UK ) arms their officers on duty and allows them to carry off duty. Just maybe we need to dig a touch deeper into social attitudes about violence, violent crime rates, threats in a given area, etc before making broad and simplistic prescriptions based on one to two data points.
Comparing Iceland and America is similar to comparing apples to oranges.
For one our governments operate with completely different mind sets , and there are several differences between the two countries .
To name a few examples . Iceland is a country that gives it’s law enforcement three years of training , while America 's law enforcement training averages nineteen weeks . Plus there is an estimated 112.6 guns per hundred people in America and 30.3 guns per hundred in Iceland . Last but not least back in the mid 1800’s when Iceland disarmed it’s law enforcement the policy if you will, was that the police were there to protect the citizen not oppress them .The list goes on but I guess you get the picture .
As a 45 year Officer of the Law the only reason I joined was to oppress people. The only problem is I’m only allowed to oppress 10 people a day. Thanks hippies.
