On the one hand this is depressing, but on the other hand, I’m pretty happy about it. I mean, I can learn new languages and piss off the ultra-“patriotic” right all at the same time? Man, I am going back to my community college!
I know the dad’s comparing it to wearing a cross upside-down in a church, but I’m waiting for one to come out with a full-blown “If English was good enough for Jesus”-type quote equating the language and the religion.
Well, one of the languages they seem to be upset about is Latin. . .basically the language of the Catholic church for all but 40 of the last 2000 years.
