It’s her back story I find hard to believe. The article about her keep saying that she won more than 185 junior tournaments. 185! That’s one a week for three-and-a-half years. More, really, because she must have lost some.
So what is the junior golf tournament world like? How competitive are they? How would she qualify? How often are they played? How many holes? How far would Dowd have to travel to play in a tournament every weekend? When did she start winning? How often has she lost? Are there any other girls elsewhere in the country who have won 185 tournaments?
