Okay, I was going to start two threads for this but I decided against it. I’ll test it out as one.
What I’m looking to make is a film about the Titanic rising and all flavors of nasty zombie shit being unleashed upon the world.
My first request is for some music that would have been popular in the UK around the 1910s (read: stuff the people on the Titanic would’ve liked). Could anyone name me some tracks?
Also, in Dawn of the Dead, I know they used a green/grey make-up on the faces of the zombies. I’m just wondering if anyone would know anything about what stuff they used for the effect.
Lucky for you pop songs lasted years instead of weeks back then… Particular songs that were popular from 1908 through 1912 (and may be somwhat commonly identifiable today) included:
…if it’s of any help, there’s always The Titanic “urban legends” page to prove inspiration. Including a legend that there was a curses Egyptian mummy in the 'hold.
And, as I recall, when Steven Spielberg made the movie “A.I.,” he contracted with an agency of disabled actors to cast amputees as some of the film’s robots—so they could remove and reattach their “cybernetic” limbs onscreen. You might be able to do something similar for your zombie film…sure, it’s not real “P.C.”, but hell, it’s a zombie movie, not “The Grapes of Wrath.”
