1950s Movie where Satan throws an Entitled Woman Straight To Hell

There was a movie/musical in the 1950s where a man is sent down to stand before Satan to learn what Hell he was to face for all eternity. The man was confused because he didn’t think that he was that bad.

I few minutes later, a heavy-set demanding woman stormed into the room, body-checked the man out of the way, and demanded better accommodations. As she did, Satan ( Sabastian Cabot? ) pushed a button on his desk. A trap door flew open and she was sent screaming and complaining straight down into the Lake of Fire.

I know that it was filmed in Technicolor… but for the life of me i can’t think of the name of the movie. Does anyone remember it?

Heaven Can Wait around the five-minute mark

Not Sebastian Cabot, but Laird Cregar, who died far too soon

I think that you are right! “Heaven Can Wait (1943)”. Thank You!

The man was confused as to why he wasn’t consigned to the flames right away, he thought he had been pretty bad, having led a somewhat unconventional life devoted to the admiration of ladies.

The entitled woman was, I believe, Florence Bates, everyone’s favorite middle-aged rich battle-ax, from Rebecca to I Remember Mama. This was a role for which she received no on-screen credit.

Her abrupt fall is hilarious
