1996 4 cyl. Ranger XL: Same starter motor & batt. as V6?

Does the 2.3l Ranger have the same starter motor and battery with same CCA as the big 4.0l? Obscure used vehicle specs are amazingly hard to find online, aren’t they? I looked on motorcraft parts but it seems to only offer info on compatability, not what came stock.

Also, while you all are at it, where can I find the gear ratios for the Ranger and Tacoma, for various years? All I can find are the rear-end ratios… mine being a 3.45 IIRC.

I’d be very surprised if the starter was the same, less so if the battery was.

Call a parts store or Ford dealer and see if the same starter is listed for both. If not, they came with different ones. Likewise for the battery.
