$2,300 windfall for me! :)

So I just received an e-mail from my HR department that essentially says that I’ve been paying for my Extended Health Care Benefits since I started working here in 1994 and I wasn’t supposed to.

So they’re giving the $$ back.

All at once.

A lump sum payment of $2,300!

Woo hoo!

Did I mention that it was tax free?

Hmph. You think that’s something.

I just got an envelopein the real mail, and it seems that I may have already won $10 million.

So there.

Sooo…

Are YOU going to be buying lunch next week?

When I read the OP I wondered if I’d put more than vacuum cleaner bags in that envelope.

So, Alice, it looks like this is a good time to ask you to donate $250 to The Cause.

Ear mark at least a portion of that for future keyboard replacement, alice.

What did I do to your keyboard?

I actually think I’ll use the $$ as a downpayment for a new car. My current car is really, really on it’s last legs.

Spontaniously shedding huge chunks of paint. The check engine light is flickering at me. It stalls when it’s cold and/or damp.

Today as I was driving I seriously thought to myself, now if I only had some $$ for a downpament…

Apparently, somebody is listening. I have no idea who, but somebody.

Oh. And what’s the cause?

That seems only fair, seeing as how they’re not paying you any interest on the money you lent them.

Congratulations, it would seem, are in order.

…cause I could really use the $250

I didn’t think you’d actually fall for that…

HA As IF I would fall for that!

::slowly puts cheque book back in purse::

True.

However, for the years 1994, 1995 and 1996 they’ve been unable to determine what percentage I should be getting back, so they’re just giving me 100% of my contributions for those years.

It’s a bit of a bonus, I think.

(Depending on the month/year/contract my employer is supposed to pay between 75 and 100% of the premiums.)

Ack! I just remembered. For some reason I had you confused with the mermaid whose-keyboard-was-broken-and-had-to-type-like-this-for-ever.

Sorry.

Color me embarassed!

:wally

O I C

Well, the mermaid is a lovely poster to be confused with.
