Ok, I have two PCs running win 2k. One is connected to the internet via a cable modem. It also has 2 functioning NIC cards in them. I have a hub. I would like to be able to have access to the internet on both PCs at the same time. I have been messing around all day trying to get this to work. Right now I have the cable modem going to PC #1(on NIC1) and have another cat5 cable going from nic2 to the hub. I then have the other PC connected to the hub. I have netBIOS and TCP/IP on both computers up and running. When I look at “computers near me”, I can SEE both computers but I cant access either one from the other box and I have no internet access on the second PC. Both of the PCs are showing a lot being sent over the NIC connected to the hub, but they arent recieving much. ISP is Cox@home and I’d like to be able to keep my firewall (ZoneAlarm) up and running on the first PC. I know I can get a second IP address for this but I’d rather not if I dont have to. I know a router would be better solution than a hub as well but I’d rather not spend the $$ on that either. This SHOULD work, I know im just forgetting something stupid. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
