2 Questions re: German Traffic Laws

I’ve got two questions regarding german traffic laws, specifically in Hamburg, if they differ between states. I know that there’s following the laws, and defensive driving/walking. Just wondering about the official rules here:
1/ Do cars need to stop for pedestrians waiting to cross at an uncontrolled intersection, without crosswalk?

2/ If a road with the right-of-way makes a left, but there is a non-right-of-way road that continues straight, how must traffic signal?

a/ if the car is following the right-of-way road (i.e. turning left): signal left turn (physical change of direction) or no signal (not leaving the right-of-way road)
b/ if the car is leaving the right-of-way road, going straight: no signal (no change in direction) or signal right (indicating that they are leaving the right-of-way road to the right).

If I remember correctly from my driving instructor all those years ago in Canada, you signal wrt to the right-of-way road, so going straight in the example above, one would need to signal a right turn. Obviously this doesn’t mean that the german laws are the same… I also realise that it might be helpful to other traffic to always signal just to avoid confusion.

Thanks!!!
NB

German traffic rules on who has right of way is pretty much the same as in the rest of Europe.

So:

  1. No.
    2a) Signal left.
    2b) No signal.

Allthough I would signal in the latter case just to avoid confusion.

(I’m not in Germany, it is 200km away)

Cars that make a turn have to wait, cars passing through an intersection don’t.

Cool.
Thanks!
