2 Year Anniversary!

Not relationships, but working at my current job. :stuck_out_tongue:

I received interoffice mail today, which apparently had been wandering around for quite a while because I don’t actually have a mailbox. I don’t normally receive anything that way, so it usually isn’t a problem, so I was intrigued by what someone wanted to give me that wouldn’t actually go through email.

Turns out it was a “Happy 2 Year Anniversary” present from the contracting company I work for at my current place. Now this is mildly amusing because my actual 2 year anniversary was last September, so calling this “belated” is an understatement.

I work as a software engineer at a very large pharma company, but through a contracting agency because of headcount issues around hiring me as a “permanent” employee.

So best of all is what the present actually was…

A metal keychain that says “The Washington Times: Brighter. Bolder. 25 Years”

I’ve never even read the Washington Times… I think I would have felt less snubbed if they had said nothing at all.

Well that sounds festive as all getout. Do you feel valued now?

The Moonie Paper loves you, what more could you want out of life?

That reminds me of a story about my mom, who works in healthcare. Her office was under new management, who decided to let the staff know how highly they were valued by giving them Christmas presents (a first). What did they each get? A plastic mug with a small pack of pretzels inside.

Did the mug at least have the healthcare company’s name on it? :stuck_out_tongue:
