I’m $20,000 in debt, too! And I didn’t even do it irresponsibly. $12800 of it is my primary college loan. $2500 is my secondary college loan. Plus, there’s my car, that’s another $6500. And I just moved across the country, which wasn’t cheap, and am now carrying a balance on my credit card for the first time in my life. (Fortunately, all my interest rates are very low.)
Heck, I think I deserve money more than she does. I wasn’t out buying Prada shoes. My idea of a treat is a basket of strawberries for dessert. A container of ice cream is too much of a splurge.
I’m torn between saying “And I never thought about asking strangers for help!” and “Wish I’d thought of this first.” I dream about the day I will be out of debt. So I can empathize with her plight - like her, I don’t make enough very much money. But she does seem seperated from reality. I know I am poor, I know it’ll take me years to pay off all of my loans. This chick doesn’t seem to be able to deal with that realization.

Kyla, FCM and others with ligit reasons for your debt: business, school, car, home…that’s normal and reasonable, IOW, not “bad” debt. What this chick has done is completely unreasonable and terribly short-sighted. Giving in to instant gratification is only a good idea if it isn’t going to haunt you for years to come, and school loans are about as far from instant gratification as you can get.

I’m not actually in debt (well, a mortgage payment, but that’s budgeted for and a small credit card debt that’s exactly where I want it), but I find myself short on pornography.
I am 20,000 nude babe pictures in debt. When I first started downloading porn on BBSs back in the early '80s, I downloaded a floppy worth of porn a day.

But now that I’m able to download more, silly stuff like…a job and a life (and my SDMB time) are cutting into my ability to meet my high, exacting requirements for “lots and lots of good porn”.
So Why Doesn’t He Just Download More
Two reasons.
First the Usenet used to be the best place for harvesting porn, but most groups have been taken over by spam. Yahoo Groups have become unreadable with Yahoo’s fuckheaded new format (Yahoo Clubs rocked, Yahoo Groups suck. And spammers have discovered them anyway). And pay-sites are unthinkable.
Second, If I spent more time searching for and downloading porn, I’d have less time to spend here. Knowing how much you all cherish my deathless prose, I couldn’t do that to you.
What can I do to help?
So I’m asking for donations. But don’t just send me any old porn you happen to have lying around. I might already have it. What I’d like is for all Doper-babes to send me home-made nudie shots of themselves. That way I’ll know A) it’ll be good (Doperbabes are, by definition, hot and B) original.
What do I get out of it?
I too believe in Karma, which is a nice way of saying “nothing much”.
